Raelynn’s puppies are here and they are already keeping us smiling.

Breeder dog Raelynn welcomed an all-yellow litter on November 17, and these pups are off to a wonderful start as they begin their journey at Retrieving Freedom. Big things start small, and we cannot wait to see where their paths lead.

Some moments remind us why this work matters so much.

Porter’s puppy raiser, Bethany, recently had the chance to meet Norah and her family. Together, they shared stories from Porter’s early puppy days and reflected on the journey that brought him to Norah. Hearing how Porter has changed Norah’s life and opened the door to new experiences made the moment especially meaningful for everyone involved.

Connections like these are a powerful reminder of the impact Service Dogs have, not just for the families who receive them, but for every person who plays a role along the way.

We are so thankful to Malta Bend Missouri Memorial Post 558 of The American Legion for their continued support of Retrieving Freedom.

Their quarterly donations totaled $1,750 for 2025, helping provide dog food for our dogs in training. Support like this plays a vital role in caring for the future Service Dogs who will go on to support Veterans with disabilities and children with autism.

January is National Train Your Dog Month, and training is at the heart of everything we do at Retrieving Freedom.

In December, we welcomed four clients to our facilities for hands-on training focused on advancing their Service Dog handling skills. These sessions are a critical step in preparing teams for successful placements and building strong, confident partnerships.

Big congratulations to Bailey and Darcy on becoming a FEMA certified search and rescue team with Missouri Task Force 1.

Bailey has been part of the Retrieving Freedom team for more than six years and adopted Darcy through our release dog program. After two years of intense training, classroom hours, and real-world practice, they completed their final evaluation and earned their certification.
