Sebastopol Paw Spa – Boutique Dog Grooming Salon

Sebastopol Paw Spa is growing! We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic groomer to join our team full-time at our boutique-style grooming salon. We specialize in one-on-one grooming sessions, allowing every dog to receive the calm, focused attention they deserve in a stress-free environment.

About the Role:
As a groomer at Sebastopol Paw Spa, you’ll provide high-quality grooming services for a variety of breeds and coat types. Responsibilities include:

Bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping
Assessing coat and skin condition to determine grooming needs
Handling pets safely and gently throughout their groom
Communicating clearly and kindly with pet parents
Maintaining clean grooming tools, equipment, and a clean work area
Documenting grooming notes and special requirements
Collaborating with fellow team members in a positive, pet-first environment
Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years professional grooming experience required
Excellent animal handling skills and knowledge of dog behavior
Friendly, customer-focused attitude and strong communication skills
Must be able to stand for extended periods
Deep love for animals and a commitment to their comfort and care
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask

NOTiCE: DOGWOOD WILL NO LONGER BE RESCUING LARGE MIXED BREED DOGS.

We aren’t serious of course. We love large mixed breeds and they desperately need us. BUT, they just aren’t getting adopted. They linger in our program, day after day, week after week, month after month, with little interest. There are more dogs than homes. Period. It’s a tragic, heartbreaking reality. While the dogs in our program have no time limit, they deserve their own loving families. And when we adopt one out, we can save another in desperate need. Adopting a dog is a big responsibility and shouldn’t be taken lightly, but it can also change your life, and the life of that dog, forever.

She loves to make new friends, both two and four legged.

Please share Nova. She has been waiting her entire life for her own family.

We have had recent events and volunteer workdays and Nova loved everyone. Calm, friendly and adorable. She’s also been fabulous at outdoor dining with foster mom.

Nova is always ready for fun and adventure. We’re told she showed some leash excitement meeting people and dogs when out with a volunteer but that hasn’t been our experience.

Nova’s DNA shows about half German shepherd, then Doberman and Treeing Walker Hound along with a variety of small amounts in the “supermutt”category. She’s about 10 months old and around 55 lbs (likely 60-75 lbs full grown). She has a confident, cuddly, outgoing, friendly personality and loves meeting everyone. Nothing phases her. Nova is an active girl who loves walks and playing with other dogs but she settles beautifully. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate. She shes still a big frisky puppy who does puppy things but shes so sweet

Nova has some sight impairment but has functional vision and gets around great. Great in the car, great at the vet, always happy and so much fun. Nova lives with confident cats with some management in her foster home but would definitely chase if allowed to and is probably too much for most cats.
