Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue (Doberman Pinschers), is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to placing unwanted and abandoned Doberman Pinschers into new homes. This page was formerly known as Friends of Puget Sound Doberescue. It is our goal to find forever homes for adoptable Doberman Pinschers in the Puget Sound region and in our care. We aim to widen our foster home network so that dogs in transition can be as comfortable as possible.

Echo is a devoted four-year-old red female who genuinely thrives on being by your side. She offers unwavering attentiveness and comfort, always knowing just when you need her most. This happy, super-fast learner is eager to please and quick to pick up new commands, making her a joy to train.

Echo does experience some anxiety in new situations and struggles with being left alone. When unsupervised, she may engage in destructive chewing and scratch at doors (though a gate helps prevent damage). She's also quite vocal; she'll bark when left in the yard (a bark collar can help here) and when meeting strangers, though her barks are typically followed by an eager desire for enthusiastic greetings.

Echo does fine around children of all ages. She has lived peacefully with cats and kittens her entire life. However, recent negative experiences have made her reactive towards other dogs, meaning she will likely do best as the only dog in her new home. Leash walks are improving; while she pulls, her attention can usually be redirected.

Echo is currently with her owner in Eatonville and will be available for adoption after her spay on July 14th. She is looking for a stable, loving home where she can be a solo dog and is rarely left alone. Her current owner, facing disability and the loss of their home, can no longer provide the consistent environment Echo needs and deserves. Echo is a truly special dog who will bring immense joy and companionship to the right family.

Boomer is 4 years old. My parents got him from a relative when he was one. He is very sweet and loving. He was neutered about 2 weeks ago and had his shots. Microchip was placed but not registered. I was waiting to let his new family do it. While being neutered the vet said he has undiagnosed hyperthyroidism that will require a blood test and a daily pill. Due to this and stress he has lost a lot of hair. He is used to living with two elderly people in a calm household. Once he warms up to you he is a great snuggler. He has lived with other dogs in the past without problems. He has not been exposed to cats or livestock. His whole world has been turned upside down over the last couple of months and he deserves so much better.
Boomer is needing a new home due to no fault of his own. His owners had to move into assisted living, and the daughter’s dogs will not accept him.

Max is a gentle 2-year-old with a heart of gold. He arrived with his brother, Maverick, after a difficult start, but his sweet nature shines through. Max is the more bashful of the two, often looking to his confident brother for reassurance. He's incredibly affectionate, always seeking cuddles, and eager to stay close to his human and canine friends.
Despite his timid nature, Max quickly opens up to everyone he meets. He loves to romp around the yard, enjoy walks, and play with toys. While he might get a little nervous in new situations or around unfamiliar objects, needing a bit of coaxing and reassurance, he truly believes he's a lap dog and loves to follow his favorite people around. Max does bark at people while in his crate, but we believe this will subside once he's settled and feels safe in his forever home.
Max is looking for a loving home where he can continue to grow in confidence and become someone's best friend. He gets along well with other dogs and has shown no leash reactivity during vet visits. We believe he would do wonderfully with children due to his sweet demeanor, though some basic training would be beneficial to prevent playful jumping.
Max is currently being boarded in Tacoma, and a foster is needed by Sunday.

Meet Rogue—a sweet, quirky 4 year old girl with a heart full of love and loyalty. She’s happiest when she’s cuddled up beside you, learning new tricks for treats, or enjoying a nice walk. Rogue has spent her life in the country and would do best in a home that’s prepared for a large dog and all the joy (and energy!) that comes with her.

Rogue needs a home without small pets like cats, small dogs, or chickens, as she has a strong prey drive. While she absolutely adores children, she doesn’t quite realize her size and can accidentally be too rough during play, so she’s best suited to a home without small kids. She may do well with larger dogs after proper introductions, though it’s been a couple of years since she’s had canine companions.

Rogue does have hypothyroidism, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit! She simply takes an affordable daily pill to keep her feeling great. Other than that, she’s a very healthy, happy girl who’s ready to give her whole heart to a loving forever home.

The Princess you have been waiting for. Ariel’s past is a mystery. She was left in a drop off kennel at a local shelter, but it is clear she was once someone’s beloved pet. She knows sit, down and shake and is thrilled to show them off.
This stunning red haired beauty has tested well with cats and other dogs making her an easy addition to a multi pet household. However, her puppy energy may be frustrating for some dogs. She would do best with a tolerant dog or a dog with similar love to play.
Ariel has never met a stranger in her life -only best friends she hasn’t gotten to know yet. A true people loving pup, Ariel just wants to be where the humans are, soaking up love and companionship. If you are looking for a joyful dedicated and affectionate companion,
Ariel is ready to be a part of your world.
She's somewhere between 1-2 years old, and already spayed.
Currently being fostered in the Olympia, WA area.

Lost in the shuffle and now searching for her forever haven is Lizzy, a petite Doberman sweetheart estimated to be around 10 months old and still very much a puppy at just under 50 pounds. She was found as a stray and her history is a mystery. She is potty trained and knows commands, sit, stay, paw, and place.
Initially shy and a bit nervous, Lizzy needs someone who understands the language of gentle reassurance and can offer her the time she needs to blossom in a secure environment. But don't let her initial timidity fool you! Once Lizzy decides you're her person, prepare for a lifetime of unwavering affection, cuddles galore, and the sweet sensation of a paw always placed on you.
On leash, Lizzy is a pretty good girl, though she is reactive towards cats, other dogs, and unfamiliar people. She will get overstimulated if there are lots of things going on during a walk. Thankfully, her attention can be redirected with gentle guidance.
To truly thrive, Lizzy dreams of a tranquil, child-free home where she can feel safe and secure. Currently, she is fostered with 3 Dobermans, one 7-year-old male, a 2 year old female, and a 10-month-old male. It took her quite a while to feel comfortable around the other dogs, especially the younger male, but once she learned they could be trusted, she tentatively initiates play. Although Lizzy gets quite anxious around other dogs, with a human who understands how to slowly and cautiously integrate her, she could live happily with another friendly, not-too-hyper dog. She is being fostered in Tacoma, WA.
Could you be Lizzy's perfect forever family where she can finally feel safe and cherished?
