UPDATE: PENDING ADOPTION
Meet Harken: A True Family Dog

Harken's ears are cropped but flopped, he is a stunning, four-year-old, weighing about 90 pounds. He is an absolute gem with a heart as big as he is, and is looking for a devoted family to call his own.

Harken has an exceptional temperament and is an experienced, wonderful housemate. He has successfully lived with:

Kids of all ages: He is incredibly gentle and famously tolerant of small children, allowing the kids in his current home to safely climb all over him.

Other dogs: He would likely thrive in a home that includes another friendly canine companion.

Cats: He has lived successfully with cats.

Harken's greatest joy is his humans! He is a devoted, affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and simply be by your side.

This handsome Dobe is active and loves to play! He is an intelligent dog who knows his foundations and would do best with an attentive owner committed to continuing his positive reinforcement and training.

Harken is currently being rehomed due to his family's move, which unfortunately cannot include him. His family believes his occasional attempts to escape—jumping or climbing a 5-foot fence—are purely due to boredom from a lack of sufficient attention and exercise. With a secure environment and an active routine, this issue can easily be resolved.

Harken's Ideal Home

Secure Fencing: A 6-foot, fully secured fence is a non-negotiable requirement for Harken's safety.

Active Lifestyle: An owner who will provide the daily exercise, mental stimulation, and attention he craves.

Companionship: He would be delighted to join a home with another friendly dog.

Harken is currently located in North Plains, OR.

Snoop: Your Next Loyal, Loving Doberman!

UPDATE: PEDING ADOPTION
Meet Snoop, a stunning 2-year-old 70 pound male with a heart of gold and a playful spirit! This handsome boy is the definition of friendly and confident, and he's just looking for a family to shower with attention. Snoop knows his manners—he's crate trained and proficient in all his basic commands. He loves to play with other dogs and has lived successfully with other dogs and children of various ages.

He is an energetic boy who needs a dedicated home that can provide him with daily exercise and mental stimulation. Because he's a goofy guy who doesn't quite realize his size, he'd do best in a home with older, sturdier children who won't be easily knocked over during playtime. He's not bothered by small critters and seems to have a low prey drive. Snoop is being rehomed because his current family doesn't have the time to fulfill his needs.

Snoop is sheduled for neuter on 23 December and will be ready to go to his forever home.

Give Snoop the time and love he craves, and he will be your most devoted companion!

Meet Rexy! This handsome 2-year-old Doberman is the perfect blend of playful energy and loyal companionship. Rexy is a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and genders—he loves nothing more than a good game of chase with his canine pals!

After a day full of activity, Rexy transforms into the classic “Velcro Doberman,” wanting nothing more than to snuggle up and be close to his person. He’s currently learning his leash manners and, true to his eager-to-please nature, is picking up new skills quickly.

Rexy is looking for an active home that can provide him with plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and, most importantly, lots of love. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will stick by your side through all of life’s adventures, Rexy is your perfect match!

UPDATE: PENDING ADOPTION
Sweet Senior Doberman Needs a Couch to Retire On!
Imagine losing your whole world, then finding yourself alone. That's Indy's reality. This gorgeous 9-year-old, 85-pound senior Blue Doberman is a survivor whose loving owner tragically passed away. After days of being all alone, she is finally safe in foster care, but she desperately needs a forever home to heal and be spoiled!

Thanks to an amazing vet and a wonderful foster, her rescuers were able to save this sweet senior from the stress of a shelter environment. Indy is a beautiful girl with typical Dilution Alopecia (fur thinning), which was likely made worse by stress and poor nutrition. It is expected to get better. So far she appears to be in good health! The vet said she has slightly elevated liver enzymes, but said it was nothing to be concerned about at this time. She does have some minor dental issues, which are all very normal for a senior dog. Indy's adopter should be prepared to take care of her dental needs and provide her with lifelong veterinary care and good-quality dog food to keep her healthy.

Indy is the absolute sweetest girl. She shows NO signs of aggression or reactivity towards people or other dogs, even the pushy ones! She was calm and non-reactive around the cats at the vet clinic.

This loving girl deserves a quiet, warm home where she can relax, nap on the couch all day, and get all the love and cuddles she can handle. She is an amazing, low-key, loving companion. She is currently being fostered with three other dogs and does great with them. She really is just the perfect dog!! Because she's an old girl and was previously the only dog in a home with an elderly man, she would likely prefer a home with no small children and another calm doggy sibling or to be an only dog. Friendly cats are fine.

Indy has known loss and loneliness, but she has so much love left to give. She deserves to be cherished and spoiled for the rest of her life. Can you open your heart and home to this precious senior girl?

Indy is currently being fostered in Olympia, WA. If you are interested in adopting Indy, please complete an adoption application here: https://forms.spdrdogs.org/Adoption/

Echo is a sweet four-year-old red female who lives up to the "Velcro Dog" title. This happy, super-fast learner is eager to please and quick to pick up new commands. She understand basic commands such as sit, down and stay.
Echo does fine around kids, however, since she has not lived with children, we do not recommend small children at this time. Echo has lived peacefully with cats and kittens her entire life. She's also lived with both male and female dobermans, although she can be more dominant, she could live with another friendly, more submissive dog. She would likely do best with a smaller dog.
Echo's current owner, facing disability and the loss of their home, can no longer provide the consistent environment Echo needs and deserves. She is a truly special dog who will bring immense joy and companionship to the right family. She is currently with her owner in Eatonville, WA.

Meet Eevie, a stunning 3-year-old blue Doberman with a heart of gold and a story of resilience. Eevie came to us after being found abandoned in heartbreaking conditions, her skin was painfully dry and flaky, her nails had been cut so short they bled, and she was severely underweight. Despite her rough start, Eevie has shown nothing but love and gratitude to those caring for her.

Now safe and comfortable in a foster home, Eevie is blossoming into the sweetest Velcro dog you could ever meet. She adores being close to her humans and will happily follow you from room to room, always ready for a snuggle or a gentle pat. Eevie dreams of being the queen of her castle and would thrive as the only pet in a calm, quiet home. She can be nervous around loud noises and isn’t suited for households with small children or other dogs.

Eevie is looking for a patient, loving adopter who will continue to help her heal and show her what it means to be truly cherished. If you’re searching for a loyal companion and are ready to give Eevie the forever home she deserves, she’ll reward you with endless love and devotion.

We want to take a moment to shine a light on the lifesaving power of fostering and offer a massive thank you to the incredible, selfless individuals who open their hearts and homes.
Meet Mercy (formerly Pumpkin), our most recent reminder of just how critical fosters are. When she was first found abandoned in the middle of nowhere, Mercy was in critical condition. She was thin, frail, and barely able to stand, malnourished and terrified—saved from euthanasia in the absolute nick of time. Her physical state reflected the depth of her trauma and neglect.
Mercy was immediately welcomed into a loving foster home, and the transformation that followed is a true testament to their dedication. In their care, Mercy received the vital support she needed: nourishing food and gentle medical attention to heal her body, a safe, quiet space to finally relax and trust again, and above all, the patience, consistency, and unconditional love required to mend her broken spirit. Now, look at her! Mercy is thriving. She has gained weight, her coat shines, and she has discovered the joy of running, playing, and cuddling. She is finally showing her true personality: a sweet, resilient, and affectionate dog!.
Mercy's journey is a perfect illustration of how fostering provides a crucial bridge for animals who need more time, care, and rehabilitation than a shelter environment can offer. Foster families literally save the most vulnerable lives. Thank you, Fosters! 💔❤️‍🩹❤️

😍 Meet Scout, the lopsided-ear lover boy who is ready to find his forever family!
In need of an immediate foster or foster to adopt in Washington State.
Rescued just in the nick of time from a high-kill shelter in Southern California, Scout is a remarkable one-year-old Doberman ready to find his forever family! This resilient boy arrived in Washington skin and bones and struggling with parasites, but thanks to his loving foster family, he is now healthy, gaining weight, and thriving, having already made immense progress with training and manners. Scout is a high-energy, affectionate companion who still has all the fun-loving traits of a Doberman adolescent, making an active home that can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation absolutely essential for him, though he is also happy to settle throughout the day and sleeps soundly through the night. He is highly cooperative for all handling, including vet visits and grooming, is fully vetted, and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement, knowing commands like "sit," "down," and "place." Scout's greatest joy is people; he is incredibly engaged and loving, and he also adores playing with other dogs, meaning a friendly, energetic canine companion would be a big plus as he currently thrives on playful interaction. While he is mastering housetraining and is generally cooperative with crating when offered a chew, he still needs a little guidance to fully embrace crate time, and though his prey drive seems low, any introductions to cats would need to be slow and carefully supervised. We do not recommend a home with small children. Scout is currently being fostered in Sequim, WA.

Meet Maverick, a stunning 2-year-old, all-natural, medium-sized Doberman who is urgently searching for his true home. This sweet, mellow boy was rescued from SoCal and moved to Seattle, but he's discovered that apartment life is not for him. He needs a home with a securely fenced yard where he can finally relax and decompress.
Maverick is a total sweetheart and a champion cuddler! He gets along well with other friendly dogs and is a brilliant student who already knows a long list of commands: sit, stay, lay down, touch, safety (place between legs), and snap (place to each side). He walks well on a leash, but does have a bit of a prey drive and will pull when he sees little furry critters running around, however he is easily redirected. He is used to being in public places, going camping, loves car rides, and he even enjoys hanging out in the pub!
He is crate trained and goes in on command, but like many Dobermans, he's dealing with some separation anxiety (whimpering when left alone). He needs a family that is home often and can dedicate time to working through this. He would likely do even better with a calm canine companion to keep him company.
Must-Haves for Maverick:
A FENCED YARD
No cats or small children (We recommend children over the age of 10).
He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines.
Can you open your heart and provide the space this deserving boy needs?
He is currently in Seattle.
PLEASE SHARE to help Maverick find his human!
