We changed the boys bedding from fleece to wood shavings last February because I just can’t keep up with laundry nowadays.

It was efficient and really save time during clean ups.

1.5 months after using it, Scottty got ringworm. I was wondering how he got it since we don’t go out and the guinea pigs have been in their room too since its still cold out. The only thing that changed from their environment was the wood shavings.

And so I did some research and found out, its common for wood shavings to be contaminated with fungal spores! It can* come in contact to wood shavings through their environment and how it was packed or stored. I’m not saying this is true for all but it’s definitely a common phenomenon.

After our experience its safe to say we won’t use wood shavings again.

Scotty has ringworm :(

I was fortunate that in the 3 years I’ve had the boys this is the first time one of them has gotten sick.

Scotty doesn’t seem to be in pain or itchy. His case is mild so that’s a relief. Surprised and glad to know that ringworm isn’t really a worm! Did you know they’re fungus?!

Ringworm is easily treatable but very contagious so we’re pausing on order fulfillment for 3 weeks to ensure I don’t cross contaminate orders I’m working on until Scotty gets the all clear.

I will send an email to all customer who ordered. If you ordered a birthday cake. I will make sure I work on that first.

Hello everyone ❤️

We’re hoping to raise enough funds for Lola’s surgery to treat and help manage her dental disease.

We noticed Lola’s labored breathing and congestion last April. We initially thought she had the snuffles but her condition started getting worse even after administering first aid care (nebulizer with saline and critical care).

When we rushed her to emergency care, her lab work and imaging tests show that Lola has several profound dental diseases and an upper respiratory infection. Vet says its progressed so much for her young age, due to this most of her teeth will have to removed to keep the pain in check and the disease from progressing further.

She will need surgery after she’s stable enough to go under a major procedure. There’s not one cure for dental disease so her condition will have to be managed but we’ll work towards the long road to a happy and comfortable life. ❤️

She’s currently needing round the clock care, taking medications to manage her pain, and undergoing treatments for her upper respiratory infection.

Please help.

Lola is having respiratory issues recently and her condition is not getting better. We’ve brought her in again today at the vet to get emergency care and hopefully to get treated.

I understand that times are tough lately but if you are able, we would really appreciate it if you could help us by placing an order on our website or etsy.
