Part one of many posts from this beautiful private wedding last month in Oregon!
This first boat shot was not a drone, nor was I standing on a balcony or something up high. I was on the boat, we were in the middle of the water. But I had this vision. I put my camera on a 10ft light stand with a remote trigger, extended it all the way, flipped out the tiny screen on the camera so I could *kind of* see the composition of my photo, and then braced the light stand. The boat sway back and forth as I snapped a plethora of photos and asked the boat driver to rotate the boat as I took photos to get a variety of differently lit sunset shots. I lowered the camera down as much as possible to get a “top down” photo, the light stand bending and bracing. After taking a series of photos that I hoped were good, this last photo was framed perfectly just like this, with the best light. I very minorly adjusted the crop but it was so straight already. It was PERFECT! I am really proud of the photos I take, but this one stood out to me a lot. It felt so satisfying to visualize, prep my equipment, work through the process of the vision, then see the back of the screen with the photo. Taken on the Canon 15-35mm at 15mm
The rest of the photos are some of my other favorite frames from the day. First dance, sunset, the backyard tree at cocktail hour, and a few other photos on the boat. It was a really magical day, everything felt perfect despite the 100+ degree heat. But you couldn’t tell that from the photos 😉
Congrats to Brittney and Brian on their wedding day!!!
