Seal Beach Animal Care Center - SBACC

Seal Beach Animal Care Center - SBACC Animal rescue, pet adoptions, animal shelter. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit animal shelter.
(554)

Established in 1986, the Seal Beach Animal Care Center is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter committed to finding permanent, loving homes for all the animals that come into our care. Our staff of dedicated volunteers ensures the animals are kept as comfortable as possible until they can be placed into new adoptive homes. As a no-kill animal shelter, getting through each day is an accomplishment.

While the SBACC primarily serves the City of Seal Beach, we attract adopters from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties, in addition to networking with other shelters, rescue groups, and animal sanctuaries across the country. We believe that through adoption counseling and education, we are helping to create a community that cares for animals with responsibility and compassion.

Kitten Bruce heads home to meet his new sister! Bruce is one of three brothers rescued from an overcrowded shelter when they were six weeks old. He went home with this lovely family to join the kitten they recently adopted from another rescue! They thought their kitten needed a friend, and little Bruce will be happy to be her new BFF! 😻

Mama Sami was featured in a post yesterday, and here are her two remaining kittens, Sylvie and Simon.
Sylvie is a sweet, sensitive girl (who looks just like mama!) who needs a little time to feel safe and comfortable. Simon is the calm, sweet, observant type. While his siblings are busy causing chaos, he might sit nearby and just watch everything, though he has been joining in the play more and more - these two get along quite well, enjoying chasing and wrestling, then when tired, cuddling up together. They’d really enjoy going home together or with another friendly kitty, to help them feel confident and give them someone to play with.

Dio heads home! Dio came to us after his owner moved away, leaving him behind. He had mange and intestinal parasites and took over a month to heal. A sweet, friendly cat, he hadn't been available long when he caught the eye of this lovely lady to join her three-year-old cat. They had just lost a cat to kidney disease, and he was missing his friend. What a wonderful turn of events for Dio! 😻

Sami gave birth to five kittens in the attic of an auto body shop and when the owners heard the babies crying, reached out for help to the lady who became their foster mom. Sami can be a little shy at first, but she’s a sweet, gentle, affectionate girl if you take it slowly, talk softly. The foster home had a small dog, and other cats, and they all got along. She’d be happiest in a home with another friendly cat, or maybe even one of her kittens (3 have found their homes!). But she could also do well as a solo cat in a quiet home if it meant getting all the love and attention for herself. She’s recently turned a year old but has already spent time being a wonderful mama to her kittens and is now ready to leave motherhood behind and be someone’s cherished companion.

Beautiful Loretta Heads Home! Loretta was adopted as a kitten, but came to us at four years old after her Mom had to enter assisted living and couldn't take her. Having been an only cat all her life, Loretta wasn't a fan of other cats. She went home with a lovely lady who wanted a companion and was very excited to take Loretta home!

Hello, I’m Eclipse, aka Mama Eclipse. I gave birth to my kittens in a flower bed in someone’s backyard. The day after they were born, we were all scooped up and taken to a foster home where I was able to raise my kittens in a nice, safe, warm home. Our foster mom says I was on the feisty side when my kittens were newborns, but I mellowed out as they got older and would cuddle with her. I’ve become a very friendly girl who enjoys lots of pets, and I have a great purr. I’m all done with motherhood and am ready to be the center of attention in a home of my own.

Blanche and Giselle go home together! In another adoption combination we would not have predicted, these two beauties went home with a lovely family that includes two parents, a teenage girl, and a cat-friendly dog! Roommates at the shelter, neither Blanche nor Giselle cared much for other cats, but they tolerated each other. The family had only planned to adopt Blanche, but Giselle turned on the charm and got to go home too! Here's hoping all goes well!😻

Felix is so ready for a home of his own! He is our little sour patch kid. Wild and crazy and playful one minute, then such an affectionate and sweet pup the next. Felix is such a smart pup, and he is the perfect medium size at 50lbs. We love him, and really want to see him find his match!❤️❤️

Corey, Coco and Charlie were rescued from an overcrowded kill shelter at six weeks old and sent to a foster home to get ready for their forever home. Their foster dad says they’re playful and curious; affectionate kittens who enjoy being held, cuddled, and lap time. If they get plenty of love and attention, they’d probably be OK as only kittens, but it would be more fun to go to our forever homes with a sibling or another kitten or young cat.
