Just a quick update… we will do a more involved post after 4/1
We want to thank everyone for all their love and support 🩷 We are officially closed
We have successfully placed all the cats. Most through adoption. We will be posting all the rescues whom have helped us and offered to help us in our most difficult time.
On a better note, Tarzan whom was adopted now has his own insta
We are so grateful to this past adopter for stepping up hours before he was being transported out to another rescue. We tried so hard in the last weeks and days trying to find him a home not another rescue.
Now we can all enjoy Tarzan and his amazing antics on insta 🧡🐅

We want to thank everyone for the support and sharing our post to help get our beloved babies homes before we close. We wanted to address the most common questions to our post - sorry for not being able to address them individually 🩷 Please feel free to reach out via email if you have any further questions.

How can I help? - Please share! If you can adopt, please come in to adopt. If you would like to make a donation, we have a large vet bill that any funds will go to. Payments can be made directly to Muddy Creek 978-948-2345 or by mail 993 Haverhill St Rowley MA - if any funds are left after we close, they will be put on this large vet bill. We personally will pay it off after we close as well. Our vet and vet office has nothing but amazing for the past 8 years. We will be forever grateful 🩷

Is it legal? - The landlord's attorney gave us 30 days notice. We are just posting now, as we were weighing our options, reaching out to rescue partners, and, frankly, just crying. We could choose not to vacate, and the sheriff would deliver a notice for court, which could buy us time. But the end result is the same. We would rather make the existing deadline to make sure our cats are safe and not in limbo.

Do you have kittens? - Thankfully it is not kitten season, so we don’t have any little ones to worry about.

Do you have barn cats - We do have a number of shy cats. However we do not have time to acclimate them correctly in the time frame we have, as we normally would. All of our remaining cats are indoor-only.

Can you find a new location? - We do not have time to identify a new location, build it out, and be inspected for our license. The funds needed to build out this rescue was $50k (it was a dump when we moved in). We are cautious to rent again, considering what is happening now.

Can I foster? - Unfortunately no, NH state law states you must have a facility to have fosters. Once we vacate we will no longer be capable of having fosters. Also, NH state law states that the only reason for a cat to be in a foster home is for medical or behavioral reasons.

What cats do you have for adoption? - Things are moving so quickly with adopters coming in, rescues offering to take cats, packing up the rescue and taking care of the cats. We don’t know if we will have time to list and post all the cats that need placement. We have some friendly adults and cats who love other cats. We encourage anyone interested to come in and we would be more than happy to introduce you!

Also, truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support…. Please keep posting cats you adopted from us. Right now it’s what’s holding us together seeing our babies loved, safe and adored - this is why we started Cat Tales for these end results 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🐈‍⬛

It is with a heavy heart that we are officially announcing the closing of Cat Tales. Our landlord has given us until April 1st to vacate the rescue. She has decided she wants to “revamp” the property so she can charge more rent. We were informed she can’t “revamp” it with us in the rescue and has given us a very small window of time to vacate our cats home.

As you can imagine, after 8 years of saving over 6,000 lives, the volunteers who have poured their love, time, and support into the cats are devastated. Please be mindful in the comments. We will post later, we are just focusing on the cats placements.

We have until 4/1 to vacate the property and are desperately in need of adopters and placements.
