Getting things done at Split Brow Taxidermy! Many 2025 deer are rolling out the door and here are just a few that have recently been finished up. I have been so busy in the shop that I don’t have much time to keep up on social media posts, but starting later this month that will change. Keep an eye on my page for more pics and updates! As always thanks for trusting me with your trophies.

I love doing remounts for people as I keep the old mount and hang them side by side when the hunter comes to pick it up. I just like seeing the transformation. I always say the difference is in the details. I never claim perfection in my work, but I work hard on the details. The muscle tone in face and shoulder, the realistic textured nose pad, the expression in the eyes. They all matter and I strive on every mount I do to try to capture as much realism as possible.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all my customers! You guys are awesome!!! I am blown away with the amount of deer and the caliber of deer that you all bring me. You all have allowed me to do this gig full time for the second year in a row. 😊

With that said I wanted to let you all know that I am running about a month and a half behind on last year’s deer. I am working hard to get them all mounted this month, but I never rush on a person deer so please bear with me. I don’t get paid until your deer is done so trust me I want to see them heading out the door as much as you want them home. You guys have been awesome as I don’t get any of those when will my deer be done calls even though I know you guys are excited to get them home. I promise it will be worth the wait.

I just wanted to give and update for those waiting on a deer from last season and say thank you to my customers for trusting me with your trophies. It has been another very successful year in the shop and I owe that you you guys.

Second Gun Season is here! I just wanted to let everyone know the drop off hours will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 pm to 10 pm each night. I will be available some throughout the day as well, but it will be by appointment only so please call ahead. I will be around some today for drop offs, but I will not be open tonight at all. Good Luck out there this season. Stay warm and stay safe.

I also wanted to give an update for those waiting on a deer from last year to be finished. I am currently running a month or so behind on those remaining deer that I received in December and first part of January of last year. I appreciate the patience and business. I was flooded with deer in October snd November so skinning has put me a little behind, but I promise you it is worth the wait. I never rush a deer just to get them done and out the door. I try to stay true to the year turnaround time, but I am a little behind right now. I understand the excitement and anticipation to see those bucks again that you all harvested last year. I am working hard to get them finished up so hang in there as I promise to get back to mounting once I am through this gun season. As always thank you for trusting me with your trophies!

The shop has been a pretty popular place so far this season and I just want to thank all my customers for continuing to trust me with your trophies. As firearm season approaches, I wanted to post my shop hours for this coming weekend for drops offs.

-I will be taking in deer Friday November 21 and Saturday November 22 from 7 pm to 10 pm each night.

-Any deer brought in during this time must be caped as I simply will not have time to cape anyone’s deer for them.

-These two days the shop will not be open at all during the day and only open from 7 pm to 10 pm, as I will be out making memories with my boys and family in the field.

-The shop will not be open at all for drop offs on Sunday November 23 or Monday November 24.

-If you harvest a deer on the Sunday of firearm season you will need to make arrangements with me to bring it Tuesday November 25 or after.

Good luck out there this firearm season, enjoy the moments with family and friends, and be safe!

The shop is so busy it is hard for me to get on my page much at all. However, I wanted to jump on here first thing this morning and provide an update for people waiting for last years deer. I have a few to finish up, but the next few weeks I will be super busy skinning deer so I will not be mounting many if any deer during that time. I will get back to mounting next month and get my remaining 2024 deer finished up over December and January. Thank you all for trusting me with your trophies and good luck this season!

I wanted to share a couple pics of how the brisket area should and should not look like after you cape your deer. 😊. I had more than I care to share look like this last year and already one come in like this so please guys keep the knife away from brisket area. If you are cutting white hair something bad happened. I cannot fix this and it results in a new cape and added cost to your mount. I just wanted to share a couple pics for reference as you cape your deer this year.

I want to wish everyone luck this hunting season. I am excited to see the deer already rolling into the shop and I am ready to help you preserve your trophy for a lifetime.

I also wanted to take a moment to provide some important information on how to properly cape your deer for a shoulder mount. Please keep in mind that warm temperatures can cause major issues with your cape. If it warm out, please either get your cape to me quickly or cool it down as soon as possible. How you care for your animal prior to it arriving at my shop is a critical part in cape preparation that leads to a quality mount. I cannot save capes that were not properly cared for in the field.

I will be offering $50 shop credit for any medium to large deer cape in good condition. Please call ahead to schedule a drop off so I can have time to spend with you to discuss your mount. Have a fun and safe hunting season!
