The heartache of losing Pudge is heavy. 💔

He passed away on Friday. He was the last of the pack.
He is the last of all our dogs.... the 8th dog we have lost in 11 years.
At one point in time we had a crew of 6 now we have none.
The silence is deafening. The emptiness is hitting like a ton of bricks.

It's been a long first day without you...without any dogs. 😢

I know he is still here....they all are. I feel them. 😞 But I sure miss holding them. 🥺

Hey all ! 👋

Hope you all had a great Christmas 🎄 and that your dogs got all they wanted. 🦴🎁

First things first...this business is my livelihood, working full time, Monday thru Friday on average 8 hours a day, some days more...some days less. I am a business of 1, just me. 🙂
Not only doing the grooming, but scheduling, equipment maintenance, bookkeeping, supply ordering,etc. I am extremely fortunate to be able to do this for a living. However, it does limit availability of taking in new clients....which at this time, I'm still not.

As some of you know (and may not know) I also am part of a local Non-Profit Animal Rescue, Mason County Mutts. We became a 501 c3 in 2015, since then I have been the Vice President and Secretary.
That too is basically a full time (unpaid) job.🐕🐈

The two entities are NOT at all related. I am just a common denominator in the two and have even fostered animal's in the back of my grooming shop, many of my clients have met said fosters. 🙂 So I understand how some people may confuse that too.

Then when I was starting up my grooming business and was figuring out a logo, I picked something way too similar to the Mutts logo. 🤷‍♀️
So that didnt help with the confusion.

My love for animals encompasses ALL aspects of my life.

Anyways..... I hope that clears up some things!! Below is my new logo, completely different then that of the Mutts logo.

Hope everyone had a nice Fall ! 🍂🎃🦃❄️
I spent today finishing up my 2026 schedule. I'll be texting and FB messaging those out soon.

I've been quiet on this page because though as much I know we ALL love seeing those cute faces 🐶 it seems the more active I am here posting on this page, the more I get contacted to take on new clients. And I really don't have availability to do so at this time. So it's kinda like "outta sight outta mind". But I am still here, working away 5 days a week. 😁

If and when, I do have the availability to take on new dogs I will make a post. ☺️

Hey all! 👋

I know it's been more than a minute since I have posted. But, I'm still here....grooming 5 days a week!

The entire month of May, June, and part of July I was up to my ears in puppies. I was fostering a Momma dog and her 8 babies (from 5 days old). They were all adopted and gone to their homes by the 2nd week of July, except for Momma. She was just adopted the other day. 💓 All of the dogs are doing wonderful in their homes! ☺️

In mid June my own senior dog Luna was in failing health and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her and end her suffering.💔
And now our last dog Finn (aka Pudge) who is also old and in poor health has been struggling, so it has been an emotional couple of months. 😥

My business cell phone is currently not working, so if you have texted me and not gotten a response that's why. Please private message here on FB for now.

🌟UPDATE ADOPTED🌟

Look 👀 who came to see me to get his nails and Grinch feet trimmed ✂️ today.

Our old man Foster Mutt, Winston!. 🖤 And he is AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.
He is such a good boy! We don't get why this dapper old man hasn't been snatched up!

He loves going for walks, playing with his toys, lounging around on the couch and snacking on treats. He is UTD on vaccines, neutered and current on his flea and tick and Heartworm/Lyme Prevention. He gets along with other dogs and would make a great addition to the right family.

He may be a senior and vision impaired but he has a lot of life left in him, and excellent hearing! . Someone out there needs him in their life!.

YES.... I'm still here and back to work.
It's been a long year already ....

Post Thyroid Cancer fun. 😜
I had my 1st Oncology appointment Monday morning.

Just going into some place that says "Cancer Center" makes me feel uneasy 🫤 But my appointment went well!
The surgery being successful with removal of the cancerous nodule and left thyroid. There is no further treatment needed at this time!! 🥰
Though there was lymphatic invasion it's not always a severe prognostic indicator, but can be associated with an increased risk of recurrence. Which is why I will have another neck/thyroid ultrasound in 6 months..keep an eye on those lymph nodes.

Given my family history of thyroid issues and Cancer, I am being referred for Genetic counseling. And the Oncologist will send for Next Gen sequencing of the tumor.

Around the end of August, beginning of September I will have the neck/thryoid ultrasound, then a follow up appointment with Oncology to review results. And also another appointment with the Endocrinologist, with routine Thyroid level checks.

If everything checks out good, will do it all again 6 months later. And then if that checks out good again, I will have it done yearly after that. 🤞

Helping up good! 8 weeks post op yesterday!!.💪

I appreciate your patience as I get back into the swing of things, after all I am a business of one... So everything from grooming, to scheduling to maintenance,etc it's me. 😁 ✌️

Hey Tidy Dog Family! 👋

I had my Endocrinology appt today in Grand Rapids. We basically went over all that has been done since I discovered the lump on my Thyroid in January, up until this point.

I need to have bloodwork done in a month, to recheck my T4 and TSH. Since it will be 4 weeks that I have been on meds and several weeks post op. The bloodwork will also check Thyroglobulin Tumor Marker Serum, that is something they monitor for recurrence but I still have half a thyroid so my level won't really be accurate to monitor, so they need to have my baseline.

The Levothyroxine is part of the treatment of thyroid cancer, preventing recurrence by suppressing TSH levels (thyroid-stimulating hormone) By maintaining adequate thyroid hormone levels it reduces the stimulus for cancer cells to grow. So.... they need to keep it in a certain range.

She did say that at 4 weeks it's little more swollen then she'd like to see.... she asked if anything happened to it... post op. I said no...but told her I went back to work last week and explained my job. I "may" have overdone it.....She suggested I ease up on work stuff for just another week or 2. 😏 And in the meantime, alternate between warm compress and ice. And to gently massage the incision area.
So I will be in touch with some of you about pushing out appointments..... again.

I have my Oncology appt. next month. Thyroid ultrasound in 6 mos. And I go back in September to the Endo., after ultrasound results are in.

Thanks so much Kim for the ride to my appt. our Jeep should be done by Monday!! I enjoyed snuggles from Mason County Mutts Foster Kitty Amora today on the trip there and back. 🥰
