As we mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11 today, we remember the victims and first responders who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

In response to the September 11th attacks, AHS started Project Active Duty as a way to give back to the brave men and women serving our country. This program allows loving pet owners leaving for a tour of duty to entrust their pets with AHS Foster Heroes, providing not only peace of mind during their deployment, but comfort knowing that when they return, their pet will be waiting for them.

Great news, Indian School Animal Hospital Family! Our recent rescue kittens have been adopted and will be staying together. They are very happy in their new Purr-ever Home!

Indian School Animal Hospital has two kittens up for adoption!

Scarlett is a grey tabby girl that is friendly, snuggly, and playful.

PG is a black kitty boy that loves to play and purr.

Both kittens are vaccinated and microchipped. They will be spayed/neutered in the very near future. They are socialized with other cats and dogs. While we would love for them to be adopted together, they can be adopted separately.

Currently, they are staying with one of our technicians, Nikki, but they come with her to work, so feel free to stop in and see them!

🚨Wildfire season is almost here and AHS wants make sure all pet owners are prepared.🚨

Whether it be a wildfire, severe storm or an accidental house fire, disaster can strike at any time. When it comes to disaster preparedness, it is important to remember the “Three P’s” – Plan, Prepare and Practice.

When planning for the unexpected, always include your family pets in your survival plans. As a part of this, it is important to make sure your pet is microchipped and wearing a collar with up-to-date ID tags, as well as designating a trusted person to help with your pets in your absence such as a neighbor or friend.

Assembling Disaster Kit Checklist
☑️Food and water
☑️Medication
☑️Leashes, carriers, bowls and blankets
☑️Vet records
☑️Pet first-aid kit
☑️Photo and description of pets

Once your plans are in place and your disaster kit is prepared, allow time for the whole family to practice what to do when a disaster strikes. For example, practice getting your cat into a crate. Often times, cats will go hide and people can lose valuable time trying to track down their feline friends while also struggling to get them into their crate.

If evacuation orders are put into place, it is vital to evacuate as early as possible and to always remember that if it isn’t safe for you, it isn’t safe for your pets! For more information and tips, visit www.azhumane.org/disaster.
