GOOD NEWS: We are receiving lots of applications to get cats fixed - thank you for taking good care of your pet!

BAD NEWS: Cat Transports on September 3rd (leaving from Bridgeport) September 9th (leaving from Scottsboro) and October 8th (leaving from Bridgeport) are FULL - all appointments have been taken.

Next cat transport with available appointments is from Scottsboro on September 23rd.

Notes from Nancy, the SNJCA Transport Coordinator and often transport driver.

Sometimes I get depressed and frustrated as a volunteer when I see so many unwanted animals and hear a thousand reasons why someone hasn’t fixed their pets, but then…..I meet kind, caring people who go out of their way to fix their pets. Just today, a truck driver dropped off 2 kittens before he hit the road for Billings Montana (thank you for moving our goods!), a woman got her 2 kiddos up extra early to drop off their cat before school, a woman brought a “Trade Day give away cat”, a couple sacrificed extras for months to save enough money to fix their 2 cats and someone is fixing “the neighborhood Tom cat”.

A huge hug and thank you to them and all the others like them over the years - we are making a difference! 🥰

Today is National Cat Transport Day….just kidding…..but SNJCA did take fifteen (15) cats to NASNC in Huntsville today. Our hearts are full of gratitude for the wonderful, dedicated owners of: Goldie, Blaze, Smokee, Harley, Rascal, Petri, Tater Tot, Tom, Smokey, Fluffy, Shadow, Willow, Maggie, Arty and Butters. Join this exclusive club and get your pets fixed through SNJCA! We have 3 cat transports every month!

I had 3 amazing co-pilots this morning going to the North Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic in Huntsville. Izzy, Tootsie and Zook were perfectly behaved - no whining, no barking, no biting, no p*e, and no p**p! All 3 are getting fixed to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Kudos to their respective owners!

Next dog transport is September 15th - only small-medium dogs (under 35 lbs) as we already have a 60+lb dog going. Sorry, but our personal vehicles only accommodate so many crates.

Attention North Jackson County Residents: SNJCA now has a cat transport leaving from Bridgeport going to the Sequatchie Valley Low Cost Spay and Neuter in Dunlap, TN. The primary driver for these transports will be Hugh S. The cost is $65 for spay and $55 for neuter. Prepayment is REQUIRED.

Drop off and pick up will be from the IGA parking lot on Hwy 277 in Bridgeport. Drop off time is TBD but probably 6:30 - 7:00 am. Pick up will be same day, same place around 5:30 pm. The driver will text you an exact arrival time.

The First date is: Wednesday, September 3rd. There are only 5 appointments available.

The August 19th Cat transport is full - all appointments have been taken. Now taking applications to fix cats for September 9th and September 23rd. Both these go to North Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic in Huntsville. Drop off is at the Tractor Supply in Scottsboro. $55 for neuter, $65 for spay - both include rabies. Not only is Dr Sarah a fabulous surgeon but it’s the lowest price you’ll find.

Dog transport to North Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic on Monday, August 11th. Only 4 appointments available. It is helpful if your dog will walk on a leash, has ridden in a car, been in a crate and isn’t terrified of strangers. $75 for neuter with rabies, $85 for spay with rabies. $10 extra for over 50 lbs. Additional services available at reasonable prices.

Drum roll…..cat transports to North Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic on Tuesday, August 5th and August 19th. Only $65 for spay with rabies, $55 for neuter with rabies. Get them fixed so you don’t have to worry about finding good homes for kittens. (Plus - there are too many cats/kittens already!)

Calling all cats! 3 transport appointments are available on July 8th and 10 appointments are available on July 22nd. Get those Mama’s fixed that had a litter of kittens this spring or you’ll have another litter soon! NOTE: It’s getting harder and harder to find homes for all these kittens! O😢. Only $55 for neuter and $65 for spay. You drop off and we do the heavy work!
