UPDATE. OWNERS FOUND!!

Found dog!
A good samaritan found this dog near the Mt Pleasant Sheetz. He appears to be a black neutered male pug or pug mix. He is not microchipped, but appears well taken care of. This guy definitely has an owner! Please call our office if you recognize him at 724-887-6820, and we will get you in touch with the finder.

A cat was found near the Scottdale Firehall 2 days ago. She is a young female. No microchip. She is very sweet and used to being handled, definitely somebody's pet! Please call our office at 724-970-0498 if you are the owner, and we can get you in touch with the finder.

Pay extra attention to those "smush-faced" breeds today!

With wildfire smoke creating poor air quality across the U.S, the AVMA is reminding the public that wildfire smoke can pose serious health risks not only to people, but to pets and livestock as well.

Smoke from wildfires contains fine particles that can cause respiratory issues in animals, especially those with pre-existing heart or lung disease. ***PUBLIC ALERT***
We have received confirmation from the PA Game Commission of a stray cat in Ruffsdale that tested positive for rabies on 6/25/26. This cat did bite a dog and a human, who are both currently receiving treatment.

We would like to remind our clients and our community that rabies is a very real and present threat in our area, and urge you to update all your pets' and livestock's rabies vaccines ASAP.

Pennsylvania law requires all dogs and cats over 12 weeks of age to be current on their rabies vaccines. This includes barn cats, and stray cats that you may be feeding. Please check your paperwork for up-to-date rabies certificates to keep yourself legal. Remember, rabies can be spread to humans, and is fatal if contracted.

The more local animals that are vaccinated, the less the rabies virus will be able to spread in our community. Keep yourselves and our community safe!

Friendly reminder, we will be closed tomorrow, Friday July 3rd for the Independence Day holiday, and will reopen Monday July 6th with our regular business hours.
