Lightfoot Veterinary Services is pleased to announce that Dr. Laci Schmidt is licensed to practice in Montana and joins Kelly, Marshall, and Shawn. Laci graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in May. She received her Montana license in November. We believe you will find her very competent and personable. Laci is a mixed practice veterinarian with emphasis on small animal and horses. Laci will be in the clinic on Monday, Jan. 13 and we are working on a more set schedule.

Some importance for people with horses. If horses aren't eating or drinking enough, they are not going to put out enough heat. Fresh water is the key and snow does not provide enough water. An estimate for water consumption is a gallon for every 100 lbs of body weight. A good tip is to sprinkle a tablespoon of plain white salt over horses' feed to encourage the horse to drink more water.
