🥰​To everyone at the UDC National 2026: Prison Break—a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU! In the excitement of the weekend, I never fully got to express my gratitude for such an extraordinary event. Your unwavering dedication to preserving and working this magnificent breed is deeply inspiring.
I’ve attended other breed events, but the Doberman community is in a league of its own.
​Walking into this event felt like being welcomed into a family. The way you rally around each other, genuinely wanting every single dog and handler to succeed, is where the real magic happens and where unbreakable bonds are formed. As breathtaking as the dogs were, the incredible, uplifting community you have cultivated is the true heart of your success.

​My favorite moments weren't just watching the dogs work; they were the heartfelt conversations with the dedicated people who traveled from far and wide to be there. Hearing stories of attendees pushing through everything from unexpected car troubles to health issues just to show up proved what true devotion looks like. It touched my heart so deeply to see handlers bring unentered dogs just to stand by and cheer for their friends.
​I am profoundly grateful to have had the opportunity to witness the 2026 Doberman Nationals.

🐾​It is with a shattered heart that I share some deeply sad news with you today. This past Saturday morning, the namesake and soul of this business, my sweet Lilly, passed away peacefully. She was 14 years old.

​As many of you know, Lilly wasn't just my dog. She was my shadow, my best friend, my ultimate adventure buddy, and the entire inspiration behind Lily Bear Treats.

​Our story started years ago when I first began fostering her. She had torn her doggy ACL, and right around the same time, the rescue we were fostering through dissolved. I had to figure out a way to raise the money to get her fixed, so I started making chicken treats. I would stand outside of every Tractor Supply and dog park that would allow me, and a few kind local businesses let me put my treats on their shelves. Eventually, we raised enough for her medical treatment—and Lily Bear Treats was born. Today, 15% of all our proceeds go towards animal welfare, and that is entirely Lilly’s beautiful legacy.

​She was an incredible advocate for Rottweilers. She was quiet, strong, and brave, but also incredibly nurturing and fiercely protective of her pack. Because of her, we were able to foster at least 11 other dogs over the years—from Pit Bulls to Dobermans, from the tough-to-crack cases to the wide-open hearts. She was amazing at fostering them all and gently teaching them the ropes of being a balanced happy dog

​She was by my side for every step and every adventure. When my daughter was a little girl, Lilly traveled all across Canada with us, riding ferry boats for miles and miles. We shared endless river trips, where she was always happiest floating on a tube, riding in the kayak, and soaking up the sun.
And I will never forget the devastating Buffalo blizzard a few years ago when we got trapped in a freezing hotel room. We used an old sled behind a dumpster as a snow shovel, and Lilly made it her absolute life’s mission to protect a giant, frozen prime rib we couldn't cook. Despite the terrible conditions, we had the most fantastic time together.

​This past Saturday morning, she let me know she was finally tired. I could really see it. We took our time, spent some extra moments just sitting in the grass, and watched the birds and our beloved river together. When we came inside, she went to her favorite spot by my bed and peacefully fell asleep.
​I am so incredibly lucky to have been her human. Thank you to everyone who has supported Lily Bear Treats over the years—you helped save her life all those years ago, and in return, she has helped save so many others.

​I sorry for the Gap in posting present to process this immense loss. Rest easy, my sweet Lilly Bear. There were so many amazing memories. 🐾🐻🌊🤍

Serving You and Petting all the dogs a can along the way has been the best way to deal with this massive loss and to Honner Lilly.

I am so Hurting but I am so Full at the same time. I wish I could reach through the screen and HUG you all. Im so deep I gradatude for YOU ALL !!

🦅 Breakfast in the Backyard ​took a wild turn this morning!
Meet me at Barryville, NY, where the morning view comes with a majestic Bald Eagle.

​We just wrapped up the UDC National 2026: Prison Break! Doberman Nationals all last week, but clearly, the boys (good job listening, Creed!) are still on high alert and ready for action. Had to call the pack back to give our national bird some peace and quiet after he alerted.
