This week, thanks to the incredible generosity of our clients and their contributions to the Paisley Fund, we were able to help Milo complete his heartworm treatment. This life saving care gives Milo and his devoted family the chance to look forward to many more happy, healthy years together. We are deeply grateful for your continued support and for allowing us to provide this essential treatment to pets like Milo.
Heartworm disease is a serious parasitic infection that targets the blood vessels surrounding the heart. Left untreated, it progresses to heart failure and is ultimately fatal. Treatment is lengthy and demanding, involving a series of specialized injections over several months, strict exercise restriction at home, and multiple oral medications. Because routine screening can take up to six months to detect the disease, many pets—especially those adopted from the Southern United States—arrive with a false negative test despite already being infected.
Your kindness makes all the difference. Milo and his loving family are profoundly thankful, and so are we. Your support helps us continue offering life changing care to pets who need it most.
