Hi, my name is Simba…
I was adopted in 2016 when I was just 2 years old. For the past 9 years, I had a home and a mommy who loved me more than anything. We did everything together, she was my whole world, and I was hers. But everything changed last week. My mommy passed away. Right now, I’m staying with some kind people from her family in Long Island NY, but they can’t keep me. So at 11 years old, I’m heading back to where my journey once began, Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue. I’m coming back with a heavy heart and a lot of sadness because I don’t understand where my mom went or why I’m not in the home I’ve known for nearly a decade.
Let me tell you a little bit about me, I’m a quiet boy. I don’t ask for much just a soft place to rest my head, some affection, and someone to sit beside. I’ve always been a little cautious with new people, but once I trust you, I’ll be your loyal shadow. My hearing isn’t what it used to be (or maybe I just don’t want to hear things that remind me my mommy’s gone), but I’m still alert and love my daily walks. I like having a fenced-in yard (that’s what I’m used to) and I haven’t really lived with other dogs, though I might be okay with a mellow, kind one. I’ve never lived with kids, so I’d prefer an adult-only home. I’m not a troublemaker, but I do have one little quirk, when people are eating at the table, I like to sit close and enjoy the smells, so I get upset if I’m asked to leave the room.
I’ve lost everything I knew. And now, I’m hoping there’s someone out there who sees this and wants to give me a home. Could there be another person out there with a kind compassionate heart like my beloved mom and who will help me grieve and heal? I have a lot of love to give!
