Just had our friend Liz from Bushy Tail Farm bring by 100 # of beautifully sweet Chantenay Red Core carrots grown just down the road from the brewery in Saxapahaw. Alongside 20 pounds of fresh, super aromatic ginger root from East Branch Ginger in Pittsboro, these babies are headed into a new batch of Beneath the Feet of Orion, our imperial Rye Saison that'll be bottled for the very first time early next year.

These two ladies showed up at the farm today. Does anyone know who's they might be? They are young beagles, and the one on the bottom looks like she's pregnant or just finished with a litter. They are a little skittish, but super sweet and loyal. Please let me know if you know their owner or if you'd like to take one home! Please share if you're in Saxapahaw!

Fresh pastured Freedom Ranger chickens from Bushy Tail Farm! Get them this weekend at Left Bank Butchery!

We now have Bushy Tail Farm chickens in the case! We also have chorizo gravy, hot dogs, stuffed county rib roasts, headcheese, and so much more. Tomorrow we'll have French andouille, smoked mackerel pate, and bacon burger packs with house steak sauce, pickles and Village Bakehouse buns!

In 1985, I was born. In 1995, when I realized I couldn't be a bird when I grew up, I decided I'd be single til I was 30, drive a truck, have a farm with lots of animals, and have a dog that went everywhere I went. In 2005, I was in college, spending too much time inside, and working towards a career in scientific research. In 2015, I'm 30, I just settled down with my favorite person in the world, I have a farm, a truck, and a dog that goes everywhere I go. Children often know best!
