It's still FLEA SEASON!! 😱😱😱
As the warm weather continues we just wanted to remind everyone how important it is to keep your pets on proper flea prevention, your vet can help you decide what's the best product for you and your family. There is a charge of $10-50 for fleas found on any dog, depending on severity of the infestation and size of the dog.

We flea bomb every other month and spray with an additional product at the end of everyday. It's so important to rotate chemicals used as fleas build up tolerances.

Our favorite spray to use at Pristine Poochies is WONDERCIDE, as it's pesticide free and fleas do not build up a resistance. It is safe to use on young kittens and puppies as well as human children, so long as no one has a cedar allergy. (Wondercide is not safe to use around birds.)

Don't forget, for every ONE flea you see on your pet there are SEVEN MORE in your home, fleas only need blood from a host to reproduce and they can live TWO WHOLE YEARS without a blood source 😱. So give your vet a call and talk about options if you see any of these pesky pests! And don't forget, most topical flea medicines you have to wait 48 hours after applying for a bath and after the bath you must 48 hours before applying.

It means you open your home to a dog that needs help, Renegade provides all the food, vet care, and anything else the pup will need, you just provide a warm and loving home. They have dogs of all types, sizes, and ages to find something that works with your lifestyle.
Reach out to them today to see what you can do to help! If you can't open your home as s foster donations to sponsor a dog are also an option, and as always Pristine Poochies accepts donations of gently used beds, toys, any dog food or treats, and cleaning supplies.

I've been asked by many clients about donating to places to help our community pet owners so here is a link!

You may just be hearing of Renegade CAN but Jennifer Taylor, director of Renegade Paws Rescue, has been doing this for years. What started out as giving some pet food to people has grown into a movement that now includes free spay and neuter, vaccines, crates, and other supplies. It has expanded from the homeless camps to other places that need just a bit of assistance. In just two years, take a peek at what all has been done. Over $16,000 has been spent on just the vetting for the community pets. Donations made to the Sara Portman Community Fund help cover these expenses. Please be humble and remember everyone could use some help and kindness sometimes. We are not there to judge, only to help. We are humbled and thankful that we get to be a small part of it. Join us and help us not only make a difference for that person and their pet but for our community as a whole.
