Yesterday we had Henry and Winston out in the garage with us.

Two different dogs, breeds, ages, and expectations but one goal: being calm.

Tethering is a HUGE part of our training no matter the age. Its so important that dogs learn how to calm down, shut the brain down, and be okay doing nothing.

This isn’t an instant exercise. Its over and over putting a leash on, and doing nothing. No toys and no attention. Its learning that they dont need to be doing something all the time or having attention whenever they want it. Cause that nose will get them on trouble lol.

If you want a calmer dog, this is where we suggest you start.

Tethering also is great for dogs needing to be potty trained cause it helps you control where your dog can go and pay attention to body language to make sure you see when they are about to go and take them outside.

You dont have to dread your dog. You can have a dog that can be " bored" you just have to want it and want your dog to succeed.

We do this with a lot of our board and trains especially puppies but also our service dogs.

His current family is looking to rehome him because it's not working out and wanted to rehome before anything else.

He is such a sweet guy and would do best in a home without other pets.

As we come to the end of our lease and step away from boarding and daycare, we just want to say how grateful we are for everyone who has supported us, trusted us, and been part of this journey. This next chapter brings change, but it also brings growth — and we’re excited to share it with you.

Our website is currently down because we are busy updating it to reflect what our services will be going forward.

Private trainings will still be available, and we truly appreciate everyone who continues to share our information, cheer us on, and follow along for updates, resources, and the work we’re doing behind the scenes.

Life has been crazy and hard, but we are ready to move forward and start this new journey. Thank you for sticking with us, believing in us, and being part of our story.

We had someone reach out to see if someone would love a new addition to their home... here is what they said:

"Her name is Sadie, we found her abandoned on a gravel road, we took her in and she is a happy dog but I already have 3 cats inside and 2 boxers so we really don’t need another dog.
She is fully vaccinated and the vet thought she was a Shepard mix and around a year old.
She is not fixed yet.
I will purchased a full bag of dog food that she is on and also meet in Oregon, Savannah, St Joe area. Just want her to go to a free good home with lot of space to run."

Henry has been around gun shots his whole life so now its nothing to him so he did great today

Winston did such a good job for our first time with him around something loud and with plenty of people for 15ish weeks old.

Dog bites very very rarely come without warning.

It is common to hear "they just bit out of nowhere!" But what people fail to see is that dogs give off body language signals before they actually bite.

Kids are usually the #1 reasons dogs bite because they don't know when to give the dog space and signs the dog is amount to bite.

Body language is a key role in our training and we really like address the safety of giving dogs space with trainings.

We have a great resource if you want to know more about the signs and the lead up to a bite from dogs and or come educate on dog safety.

We have given kids at a camp an 11 week tesching on dog safety and education so if you or someone you know thinks this would be something they could benefit from we would love to help.

ANNOUNCEMENT
After much prayer, reflection, and heartfelt consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to renew our lease when it ends soon. This has not been an easy choice, but one we truly feel led to make.
Training dogs and working alongside their owners has always been our greatest passion, and we are excited to dedicate more time and energy to that calling. While we will be stepping away from boarding and daycare moving forward, any currently scheduled stays will be honored, and we will continue offering daycare until about 10 days before we leave our building.
This transition will allow Cortney to focus more deeply on training, opening doors to incredible opportunities—including training an explosive detection dog. It will also give us the chance to return to the shelters and expand our work with police dogs, which is something very close to our hearts.
We are beyond grateful for the past two years in this space and for every single person and dog who has been part of this journey. Each dog entrusted to our care has meant the world to us, and the relationships we’ve built will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and being part of what makes us strive to truly Stand Alone in this industry.
