The regular August monthly meeting of the Central Minnesota Retriever Club will be held Wednesday, August 13 at 7 pm at the clubhouse.

All members are encouraged to attend the meeting and take part in the direction of our club. On the agenda will be fall work day, nominating committee, and potential bylaw changes to the terms of officers and board of directors as well as election procedures, and other miscellaneous business of the club.

CMRC Club Night is back!

Get out on the remaining Wednesday wveninga of the summer. The next Club Night will be Wednesday, August 6!l beginning around 6 pm.

Club Night is open to all members, especially members new to the club just getting to know the property and other club members.

Training will go until dark or whenever everyone is run out of gas. Everyone should be prepared to go into the field and take turns throwing. It’s not really a class, but there will be members there with some experience to help with setups and offer training advice. It’s a great way to meet other members and perhaps develop more training groups.

All are welcome!

And just like that, the end of the season for licensed events at CMRC has come to an end. Our summer AKC Licensed Field Trial was an overall success. Thank you to our chair Tom Torvik for all of his efforts and leadership. A huge shoutout to the many, many members and even some guests that went into the field to throw and shoot birds, and plant blinds. Much appreciation to our judges who adjudicated the entrants through rigorous tests. Congratulations to all of the winners. There still remain about two months of trials and tests throughout the upper Midwest and we wish continued success to all as our retriever sports season continues!

NO CLUB NIGHT ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 30. Grounds closed to training in preparation for the AKC Licensed Field Trial that begins Thursday morning, July 31.

The CMRC Summer AKC Licensed Field Trial is this up oming weekend starting with the Open Stake on Thursday, July 31. The Amateur and Qualifying Stakes begin on Saturday, August 2 and the trial will conclude on Sunday, July 3
Come out and see some of the greatest dogs in the entire United States and some of the most successful handlers in Field Trial History compete.
The CMRC grounds are closed to training during the trial including the day prior to the trial on Wednesday, July 30 By rule, competing dogs are not allowed to train on the grounds within 24 hours of the trial. And it is club policy to close the grounds to training 24 hours prior to a licensed event so as to not foul the grounds prior to competition and to simply facilitate the preparations for the event.
