Emergency preparedness includes our pets! Keep pet carriers accessible near exits, include pets in evacuation plans, and consider pet alert stickers for windows.

For apartment dwellers: know which exits allow pets during emergencies.

Most importantly — if you're safely out, don't go back for pets. Contact emergency responders instead.

Not all dogs are natural swimmers! Even water-loving breeds can struggle in pools without proper supervision.

Always watch them closely! Provide life vests for nervous swimmers, rinse off chlorine immediately, and never assume they can swim just because they're a "water breed."
