The Rescue!
Welcome to Lola’s little one.
Yes the authorities were called by a neighbor but Nothing was done.
This is super rural and the county may have 1-2 deputies, no animal control and I’m not at this time doing anything else until myself or the neighbor catches the other 2-3 bunnies. They are my main concern at this point and I need access to that yard.
The others have scattered. This one for some reason stayed. A few have been picked off by predators and well some that didn’t escape
Were left in the cages.

So many of our rescued bunnies sleep most of the day the first few days after rescue.
We assume after they are dumped they are always on the lookout and to scared to sleep.

Sammy and ourselves would like to thank all of you who donated to help with her vet cost at that time.

We hope the last 2 years with us she was happy. Those 3 long years we think just took its toll on her little body.

Our sweet Sammie (the bunny from Dennys) passed away at some point last night. We found her this morning.
She deserved better!
She was microchipped and had been dumped twice according to the details of the chip and the spca. Then dumped a third time in October 2021 in the parking lot of a hotel and a Dennys restaurant in Metairie, Louisiana where she somehow survived for 3 years according to Animal control and the hotel staff.
No bunny we have ever rescued has survived that long after being dumped. We caught her finally after someone eventually realized she should not be there in March 2024 when they contacted us about her. At that point she had lost site in one eye and had a severely broken rear leg that had healed pointing it outwards.
She would sit at the window of Dennys hoping someone would feed her. That’s where I would eventually catch her.
She survived I’m assuming because one of the hotel staff would feed her when she was working.
We are so very heartbroken over her passing. We think she was around 6
With the first 4 years of her life in the worst conditions a bunny could ever survive in.
We love you Sammie.
You are fully healed now and will never be dumped again.

Melly the little bunny we rescued a few weeks back and McLain. I’m pretty sure this is a foster fail.
They just love each other.
Who would dump such an innocent little animal when all she wants is love.
