Boarding doesn’t have to mean “BORED”-ING.

I know a lot of people feel pulled to choose in home boarders because they want their dogs to have attention, supervision, and a normal routine while they’re away. I completely understand that. The good news is you don’t have to choose between that and the safety of a licensed, insured, fully safety + surveillance equipped boarding facility. Here at Pawnails Grooming + Kennels, we actually live on the property. We also purchased the house that is connected to the facility specifically so there could always be someone here even overnight. Our dogs aren’t sitting in kennels all day waiting on the next potty break and only let out to see daylight for a few short moments.. Truly — if the weather is nice and your dog enjoys being outside, that’s where they’ll be. They get time to play, explore, relax, and just be dogs. We want them to enjoy their time here. We don’t believe in taking a dog out for a quick 3 minute potty break and putting them right back up all day long. The biggest difference between us and most in home boarders is that we can offer that same attention, supervision, and home-like atmosphere on a larger scale while also providing the security, experience, structure, and peace of mind that comes with a professional boarding facility. This isn’t a place where everyone clocks out and leaves for the night. The dogs become part of our daily routine while they’re staying with us.

Summer is starting to fill up, so if you have vacations, work trips, or any summer plans coming up, I would go ahead and get your reservations in. Even if your plans change later, that’s okay. As long as cancellations are made at plenty of time before their stay, there is no issue. We’d love to have your pups spend their vacation with us while you’re on yours. 🩵

Searching for a loving home for Chance.

Back on December 20th, this sweet boy showed up in our parking lot right before a night that was supposed to be freezing cold and we took him in and got him all vetted and he’s been here ever since. He was covered in fleas and ticks, full of worms, heartworm positive, starving, bloated, exhausted, and honestly just in rough shape all the way around.

And the difference in him is unbelievable.

Chance is healthy, heartworm free, fixed, vaccinated, potty trained, e-collar trained, and doing so good. He has gained weight, his coat is healthy, his eyes are bright again, and you can just tell he finally feels safe. He’s learned what love is and he absolutely deserves a family of his own now. 🥹

He’s estimated to be around 2–3 years old. He does well with other dogs overall, but he’s not crazy about certain male dogs sometimes, which honestly is understandable considering he survived on his own for who knows how long. He’s never been aggressive with us whatsoever. He’s very obedient, listens well, and is EXTREMELY food and treat motivated lol. Him a chunky boy.

Chance honestly would do amazing with someone wanting a loyal companion. An older man, a young boy, someone with land, or honestly just somebody wanting a calm dog that enjoys being outside during the day and curled up inside at night. He is not super demanding or hyper. He’s just happy to exist near you.

We will miss him very much. We’ve said we needed to find him a home for months now and it just never feels like the right time for us but he’s ready. There is just something so pure about him. You can look in his eyes and tell he’s grateful.

We have kept him as long as we could to make sure he was healthy, healed, and truly ready for a home. We’ve had him since December, and now it’s time for him to find his people. Please share this post so we can help Chance get the happy ending he deserves.

At Pawnails Grooming & Kennels, we offer grooming, daycare, and boarding with care that goes far beyond the basics. 🩵

We specialize in anxious, fearful, senior, and “difficult to groom” dogs. Our goal is never to “just get the groom done.” We work to rebuild trust, rewrite bad grooming experiences, and help dogs feel safe and comfortable again at their own pace. When we say true one on one grooming, we mean it. Your dog is not sitting in a loud room surrounded by 10-15 other barking dogs while dryers, clippers, and chaos are happening all around them. That environment is overwhelming for a lot of pets, especially anxious ones.
We focus on a calmer, more personal experience with individualized attention, patience, and comfort first handling. We take the time to learn what your dog needs instead of forcing them through a stressful process.

For boarding, your dog is cared for like family while you’re away. We have 24/7 on-site care, frequent outside time, supervised playtime when appropriate, staff interaction, and plenty of love and attention throughout the day. We don’t believe in just letting dogs out for a quick potty break and putting them right back up. We do everything we can to keep them comfortable, happy, and feeling as close to home as possible. If the weather permits and your babies want to be outside, that’s exactly where they’re gonna be. ☀️ We set up sprinklers, enrichment toys, shade areas, and constant fresh water so they can safely enjoy being outdoors while staying cool and comfortable. We rotate dogs inside and outside throughout the day so they have time to rest and cool down, but we also know a lot of dogs are much happier relaxing and playing outside instead of being kenneled all day. We truly try to make their stay feel as fun, comfortable, and stress free as possible while still keeping safety our top priority.

Whether your baby needs a fresh groom, daycare fun, or a safe place to stay while you vacay, we’d love to care for them. You have our word that we will treat them exactly like our own if not better! 🤪🐾 🛏️ 😴
