The Highway Boys led the way for Rabies vaccines today! 💉

This handsome gentleman - Waylon - was the star of the show - even being deemed “The Greatest Cat” by our veterinarian! Not only does he have a luxurious, beautiful coat (that he keeps quite clean!), he also has a constantly working purr motor that could lullaby even the best insomniac to sleep. This dude isn’t just about good looks - his personality is as sweet as honey too. 🍯 He does well with every other feline he’s ever greeted - accepts respectful canine companionship - and does well with kiddos of all ages. He has fully recovered from his neuter surgery and any medical ailments that have come his way. He is now FULLY vaccinated with the core vaccines. He is also microchipped! 😁

Could Waylon possibly be the addition you have been looking for? Guess what - he has brothers! Three, in fact - Willie, Kris, and Johnny!! We would love for him to have a feline friend in his furever home and one of his brothers would make the purrfect match! 🐱

💞SQUASH & LUMI LOU UPDATE💞

Squashy arrived into Pawsitive Tales care on October 20th last year - arriving exactly one month later - was Lumi Lou. It was a kitten season filled with eye issues of all kinds - Squash and Lou fell into that category on a significant level.

By the time Lumi had arrived, Squash had finished her quarantine period and had her right removed due to it rupturing. Lumi spent a long period being quarantined to her own space - and let me tell you…she was NOT thrilled about it. However, the day finally came where she could safely be introduced to Squashy and friends.

It was an instant bond for the two of them - they ate snackies together, played together gently, and wherever they were - they snuggled up to one another. A beautiful friendship of vision impaired kittens was being brought to life.

I had hoped in my heart that they would be adopted together - whenever that point came. But asking someone to adopt two vision impaired kittens is kind of a lot. So when Lumi’s adopter fell into love with her - I let her go. As hard as that was - it was a purrfect fit for everyone.

It was about two or three weeks later that Lou’s adopter contacted me - I was afraid she was going to inquire about returning her back to PTR - but to my amazement…she asked to adopt Squash-a-roony too!!!! Obviously, I jumped with joy and said ABSOLUTELY!

It’s been a couple months now and they are seriously living the life. Mum works from home and has two beds - one for each - on her desk for them to overlook and correct her work. They also have a wonderful doggy sister that helps them rule the home.

Honestly, this adoption story might be my favorite. Rescue can be hard but the work is worth it when you get these results. Squashy has extremely minimal vision in her remaining eye and Lumi only has one eye to work with - they both battled upper respiratory infections that wouldn’t go away when they were babes - they are resilient little fighters that were given a chance. And look at them now!

Below are their intake photos along with a few of them in their new palace! 🐾

🆘 A PUP IN NEED! 🆘

Our gentle giant is re-splinted and in good spirits after our visit to Rice Veterinary yesterday. We tentatively have surgery to see if we can repair or amputate the leg THIS coming MONDAY.

Surgery - depending on the type - is estimated to be between $2500 - $3500 (including his neuter!) and we need the COMMUNITIES HELP to raise funds to help get this dude the surgery he VERY much needs and deserves!

Let’s honor this big guy and his journey to recovery - along with YAY it’s FRIDAY - by simply donating $5.00 to THIS post - Venmo/CashApp - or PayPal! If you cannot donate towards his care - PLEASE SHARE his post to spread his story.

The newest temp arrival - one extremely fractured front leg caused by being hit by a car.

This dude is in serious need of surgery to remove his broken leg! He JUST came into PTR care and now that we are done cleaning up the mess from his splint falling off - we are off to visit Rice Veterinary Clinic - who we often visit for orthopedic and amputation surgeries. There he will have his wounds touched up - a new splint and bandage - and a plan in place for medical care.

The fracture is creeping up on ten days old and has now broken through the skin - we are most concerned with keeping this guy comfortable. If you can help fund his future visits for splinting - and even amputation….please donate!

✨ GLOW UP ALERT ✨

Last November - a tiny little Sparrow entered the rescue as a bottle baby. We are so thrilled to announce that she is now a THRIVING CAT living life up with her cat sister and her dad.

Her dad reports that her favorite spot to curl up and recharge her batteries is on top of the warm stereo where it emits wonderful jazz music and lulls her to sleep. Of course, she’s bothering her sister and causing havoc when she isn’t enjoying the soft tunes coming from the radio.

We couldn’t be happier to see this girl living out her pawsitive new tale!

Turtle 🐢

One of the most challenging things in rescue is learning that you cannot save them all - and it’s a lesson we are reminded of often with all the tough medical cases we intake here at PTR.

However - those back to back losses - the ones where you don’t have the opportunity to catch your breath and wipe the tears from your eyes - are by far the most difficult to navigate. And I am at a loss of words for the past twelve hours.

Without even having the opportunity to introduce this sweet babe on Labor Day, upon intake - we lost her on the race to VEG ER early this morning.

To our tiny Turtle - we are terribly sorry we could not save you. We hope your walk across the rainbow bridge was filled with a colorful sunrise and that you were welcomed by all of our beautiful souls we’ve lost. 🌈 🐾

Lentil.

This is tough case to write about - but we’re desperate for your help. Eight week(ish) old Lentil was found on Sunday evening by some Good Sam’s that found her in a tarp near a vehicle. After picking up her frail body - they knew she needed medical attention immediately. Weighing just over three pounds and covered in urine scald - she’s currently fighting for her life.

Sunday night provided promising improvement after IV fluids and small amounts of food - she was released from the hospital and sent home with her foster. Since then - things have continued to decline. Her weight has dropped, she refuses food, her color is pale, and at best - she’s quiet but responsive when talked to.

As if this morning - she continues to decline. However, we are determined to get this nugget what she needs and continue fighting for her. It’s off to the emergency hospital once more for continued diagnostics and treatments. We really need the community to come together to help little Lentil by raising funds for her hospital bills and providing her high quality food.

Ways to help baby Lentil:
➡️Donate financially! Directly donate on this post through PayPal or Directly through PayPal by using our email. You can also find us on Venmo and CashApp at PawsitiveTalesRescue ☺️
➡️Donate food! Lentil is currently eating Hill’s Science Diet Puppy i/d - both canned and kibble. Once her tummy can handle consistent food she will be transitioned to Purina Pro Plan Puppy - which can found on our Amazon Wishlist along with other items for Lentil!

We greatly appreciate your generous help with trying to save Lentil - please kindly share this post to spread the word about her.

💕 ADOPTED 💕

My oh my! Sunshine ☀️ Sprinkles 🧁 and Jasper 🦇 have not just been ADOPTED - but they were ALL three ADOPTED TOGETHER! This trio - who all came in separately - have been fostered together since their quarantine period ended a few weeks back. They have grown into thriving kittens who love to play - cuddle - and purr. Their new family couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome this triple threat into their loving home - we are too!

Thanks to our wonderful foster Emily P. for fostering these guys and helping them grow! Give this post a ♥️ to send good luck vibes to Sunny, Sprinkles, and Jasper in their new lives!
