WEATHER INFORMATION:THIS IS FROM MONETT PD:
It’s going to get dangerously cold this week! Not only that but it’s expected to rain and snow Monday and snow of 1-3 inches expected on Thursday! Thursday morning we are supposed to start out in the 20’s and the temperatures will go DOWN during the day to an expected -10 degrees with wind in the 30’s which will drop the windchill feels like temperatures by another 10-20 degrees. NO PETS should be outside in this! Bring them inside or they will freeze! When you take your pet outside for potty breaks, they need to be on a leash if you have no fence. Do not let them free roam to do their business because if YOU get distracted and don’t pay attention to the time they will start wandering to try to get warm and/or find shelter. Then you can’t find them and then it become a tragedy. I am not kidding here. These temperatures are dangerous. Plastic dog houses, even the igloo type are not good enough in these temperatures. If you want one good enough then build a house out of hay or straw bales. Angle the entrance so that the wind can’t blow in it. Fill the house 3/4 full of straw and make sure you put tarps over it to help keep moisture out. It’s a whole lot easier to just make an area inside for your pets. JUST DO IT!

Please, please, please check on your neighbors before it hits to make sure they are ready and have water running so their pipes don’t freeze. Make sure they have plenty of blankets and food. Then check on them again during and after. We have to take care of each other! Thank you!
