What an amazing thing to witness!!
I didn’t get to watch Secretariat or Seabiscuit race, but I’ve heard about it my whole life.
What Golden Tempo, Jose Ortiz and Cherie DeVaux were able to accomplish feels just as super historic!
It was so cool to see-
Two brothers who dreamed of being jockeys and then finished 1st and 2nd (holding hands in the photo)..:
And then to also see the first female trainer win the Kentucky Derby-
You couldn’t have scripted a better race.
It was emotional and inspiring.
There’s a million things cool about this, but it’s awesome to see a competitor who never thinks they are out of the game.
To see Jose & Golden Tempo run dead last for 3/4 of the track, and see that competitive spirit to still believe they could win, is awesome!!

I have followed Endo the Blind for quite a while now. This horse is absolutely incredible if you don't know who he is. The bond between him and his owner is unexplainable and I absolutely LOVE and have loved watching this team. ♥️
However, the magnificent blind warrior is in a battle right now. Endo is dealing with edema, and he needs every ounce of strength, healing, and prayer we can send his way. Pray for the swelling to go down.
Pray for his levels to rise. Pray for his body to respond. Pray for wisdom over his vets.
This horse may not have sight… but he has more heart than most.
Let’s surround Endo with faith, power, good thoughts, good vibes, and relentless belief in healing.

Lord,
You created Endo perfectly, strong, brave, and full of light. Right now as he battles edema and low protein levels, we ask for healing over his body. Reduce the swelling. Restore his strength. Rebuild what is depleted.
Give wisdom to his vets and peace to the hearts that love him.
Cover this magnificent boy in protection and let his body respond with steady, undeniable healing.

Amen. 🤍

Electrolyte paste is good to have on hand during winter weather along with normal electrolytes

If you’re barn tends to be 10-20 degrees colder like mine - turn out with extra forage or stable with slow feeders so they can keep grazing (sometimes two on opposite sides)

I always soak my horses alfalfa cubes and add their dry grain on top some get everything soaked

Dump out waters and refill as they will get cold over night 😊

❄️ Cold Snap Reminder ❄️

With the upcoming cold weather here in the sunshine state, now is a great time to be proactive about colic prevention. As temperatures drop, many horses drink less water, which can increase the risk of impaction colic.

➡️ Consider starting electrolytes to encourage more drinking!

➡️ Add warm mashes to help boost hydration and keep things moving!

➡️Providing constant forage during the cold to mimic grazing will help prevent any stomach acid build up!

These small changes now can make a big difference during the cold snap. Let’s keep our horses comfortable, hydrated, and healthy this winter! 🐴💙

The Wild Animal Sanctuary has acquired a massive 22,450-acre property in northwest Colorado, an area larger than Manhattan. This new land will become the organization’s Wild Horse Refuge, a safe haven for hundreds of native wild horses, also known as Mustangs. The refuge is designed to counter the effects of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) roundups that relocate or remove wild horses from public lands.

Previously a cattle ranch, the property will now be fully dedicated to the care and protection of wild Mustangs. The sanctuary plans to provide lifelong homes for up to 500 horses, allowing them to roam freely in a natural environment without threat from human intervention or livestock operations.

This expansion increases the sanctuary’s total protected area to over 33,000 acres. By securing such large, contiguous habitats, the organization is not only saving individual animals but also helping maintain wild horse populations and ecosystems across Colorado.

At DD’s Miracle Minis, something special happens every day. Children who struggle to find their words begin to laugh. Adults who carry heavy burdens suddenly feel light again. And families who walk in with worry leave with hope.

It all starts with a gentle nudge from a miniature horse (or donkey or goats), the soft brush of a mane against a hand, or the simple act of being accepted just as you are. Our animals don’t ask for anything in return—they give love freely, and in doing so, they help hearts heal.

But behind every moment of magic is a lot of unseen work: feeding, grooming, medical visits, training and caring for these incredible animals. A new barn means more room for the animals who give so much, better care, and a safe, welcoming place for the families who need them. To complete the barn and keep providing services to the community we need your help!

Every dollar makes a difference. Together, we can continue offering these services free of charge, so no one is ever turned away.

Now is the time to bring our hearts and helping hands together. Will you help us build a stronger future for our herd and the community they serve?

We are asking for $5 from you and to share with five of your friends (or more!). Five dollars. Forever impact.

Every $1,000.00 towards our goal, we will raffle off some DD’s swag and gift cards. Every $5 donation is one entry! Follow along on our social media pages!

We truly can’t thank you enough for your support! ❤️❤️
