Day #4
When caring for orphaned neonatal rats, maintaining healthy weight gain is critical for survival and development. In some rescue situations, experienced rehabilitators may carefully supplement kitten milk replacer (KMR) with small amounts of additional milk-based fats, such as heavy cream, to help provide extra calories for fragile babies struggling to gain weight. Any supplementation should be done cautiously, gradually, and with close monitoring to avoid digestive upset, dehydration, or aspiration. Tiny lives require constant care, warmth, hydration, and proper feeding techniques to give them the best chance to thrive. 🐀🍼
