We are proud to say that we have placed over 3500 pets into new homes, and reunited over 1200 pets with their owne

rs, since 2001. Our staff and Board of Directors work toward educating the public about proper animal care including spaying and neutering, outdoor housing, providing proper sustenance, veterinarian care, and the many state and local laws and ordinances that a pet owner should be made aware of. We also assist local Law Enforcement with Animal Cruelty investigations and emergencies. The Tri-Lakes Humane Society covers a large geographic area in 4 counties (Franklin, Essex, Clinton & Hamilton). Under contract with local Towns & Villages, we provide both Shelter & Dog Control services for the residents. As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on monetary donations from supporters to keep our doors open to helping the homeless animals in our area. Our volunteer Board of Directors are constantly planning fundraiser events, and we also have gained a lot of support from local businesses that assist us with fundraising. We gladly accept monetary donations of any amount, as every dollar helps us continue our mission to help the animals in our care. We also accept donations of pet food, pet supplies, cleaning supplies, etc. If you are unable to adopt a pet, and can not always give a donation, consider donating your time to become a TLHS Volunteer! We enjoy having people come in and spend time helping us take care of our shelter animals each day. If you are interested in making a donation or volunteering, please contact us. Imagine spending half your life waiting for a forever home.

Betty and Wilbur have done exactly that. At almost six years old, these two shy, bonded cats have spent more than half their lives at Tri-Lakes Humane Society. And this Friday marks their 1,070th day in our care.

Now, as construction transitions inside the shelter, the place they trusted and felt comfort in will become loud, confusing, and frightening.

For cats as gentle and timid as Betty and Wilbur, the need for a safe, quiet home has never been more urgent.

They have waited long enough. What they need now is someone patient, someone kind, someone willing to let them find their courage in a real home—together.

If you can give Betty and Wilbur the second chance they deserve, please apply to foster: https://www.trilakeshumanesociety.com/about-4
or adopt: https://www.trilakeshumanesociety.com/formadopt

Their 1,070-day wait could end with you 💙

The Tri-Lakes Humane Society covers a large geographic area in 4 Northern New York State counties (Franklin, Essex, Clinton & Hamilton). Under contract with local Towns & Villages, we provide both Shelter & Dog Control services for the residents. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the support of our community.
