Update on Big Dog. He is ready to be adopted🐾

I have had Big for 6 days now, and he has really come a long way in a short period of time. I don't know that I'm going to be able to keep him, but I've decided to do all I can to help him along. It's my thought that if he is well trained, his chances of a loving home increase. This is one sweet and very smart dog, that just happens to be deaf. And unfortunately, due to a reaction I saw in him when he thought he was in trouble, I'm afraid someone either just thought he was stubborn or they were just a mean human being. He put a plastic egg in his mouth, so I quickly advanced towards him to get it, and the poor dog flinched, closed his eyes and dropped to the floor. Needless to say I sat on the floor with him and gave a few extra kisses for reassurance.
I have spent a lot of time working with Big. He is learning some basic hand signals, walking well on the leash, and has not had a single accident in my home. I am kennel training him. I have also taken him to work with me twice to socialize him and he is an absolute love bug! He will crawl up in your lap if you let him.
I'm going to just keep working with him until whatever is supposed to happen, happens. It is my opinion that a secure yard is a must. He wants to run and play so badly, but I can't let him. I do not have a fenced in yard, and a deaf dog doesn't have recall without either a vibration collar or more training. Anyway, here are some pictures and videos of how it is going.
