In the middle of everything happening with our Hocus Pocus babies, we've received a request to take in another mama and her litter of five two-week-old puppies.

Because that's just how the universe works...

Mama is still nursing, and we're looking for an experienced neonatal foster home (or someone who wants to learn!) who can commit to caring for the family until the puppies are at least seven weeks old.

At that point, the puppies will be paired with a littermate and transitioned to a new foster home, where they'll continue growing and developing while waiting for their forever families.

A few important requirements:

A commitment to keeping mama and her puppies until they are at least seven weeks old. Until approximately December 3rd.

Mama and puppies must be kept completely separate from ALL other animals for the duration of their stay.

A dedicated, quiet, low-stress environment where mama can feel safe and the puppies can grow without unnecessary exposure or disruption.

Someone who understands the time, attentiveness, and hands-on care required for a nursing mama and newborn puppies.

Our puppy program looks a little different. We put a tremendous amount of thought into the developmental needs of our puppies and how we can give them the best possible foundation, even within a rescue system that isn't always designed around what's best for the individual dog.

We believe raising puppies is about so much more than keeping them fed, vaccinated, and finding them homes. It's about giving them the tools, experiences, and foundation they need to become successful adult dogs. We follow the Puppy Culture Protocol for all of the puppies who come into our program!

💔 Our Hocus Pocus litter needs all the love we can send their way.
We are absolutely heartbroken to share that three of our babies have lost their fight against Parvo.

The remaining puppies are still fighting, and they need every bit of positive energy we can send them. They are receiving medical treatment and cannot be moved for at least two weeks, provided they make it through this.

Right now, all we can do is take this one day at a time, hope for the best, and pray these little ones pull through.

Please keep our babies in your thoughts. Send them your prayers, your love, and every ounce of positive energy you have.

Fight hard, little ones. We aren't ready to give up on you. ❤️‍🩹

Our holiday foster program gives you the chance to enjoy some four-legged company while giving a rescue dog a cozy place to land, and gives our volunteers a much needed break to enjoy with their families.

Adoption Announcement 🥳

Handsome Kona man headed home last night! We’ve had the privilege of watching him grow from a goofy young puppy into a more mature, confident boy throughout his time with us.

Some dogs leave a little bigger of a hole when they go, and Kona is absolutely one of them. We adore this boy, and while saying goodbye is never easy, goodbyes are what rescue is made of.

Go live your best life, sweet boy. You deserve every bit of it.

While our mission is to save Rottweilers from the uncertainty shelters bring, and that's where a lot of our dogs come from, we do understand that stepping in before they get there is so so important.

We've seen how difficult owner surrenders are for owners, and we've also tried navigating how difficult they are for the rescue itself.

To make things easier for us to take on owner surrenders, our organization has come up with base standards that must be met before we can approve a surrender.

🐾 Medical: All dogs must be current on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations. Adults must be spayed or neutered. Depending on the circumstances, and where the rescue is with funding we can often make exceptions, however, this is our policy moving forward.

🐾 Behavior: Every dog must have a professional behavioral evaluation and be deemed safe and appropriate for our program. We don't expect perfection, but public safety is critical. We have a form we'll have you take with you.

🐾Surrender Fee: We require a $175 surrender fee. At times we can make exceptions, however, this is our policy moving forward.

Cookie is a great example of why we implemented these changes.

Cookie's owner was committed to him despite her declining health. He arrived fully vaccinated, neutered, and with a professional behavioral evaluation, and we truly don't believe she knew the extent of his medical needs.

We've since discovered he struggles with mobility and will likely need bloodwork and X-rays to make sure he's healthy and ready for adoption. The behavioral evaluation gives us peace of mind that he can be handled safely, so we can make cooperative care as stress free as possible for him, and safe for us and the vet staff who will be caring for him.

Because his owner handled the basics, we can focus our limited funds on investigating his medical concerns and improving his quality of life.

We're incredibly grateful to her. Responsible ownership gives rescue the resources to address what comes next.

We understand hardships happen and consider delivery surrender on a case by case basis.

🤎🖤You may have noticed we’ve had a lot more black and tans around here lately. As a breed-specific rescue, that’s kind of the way it’s supposed to be.

When we started in 2022, our goal was simple: give dogs in need access to training and a better chance at finding their forever homes. Over the past four years, we’ve learned what works, what our limitations are, and how we need to move forward.

We started by helping working breeds of all kinds, including Dobermans, German Shepherds, Boxers, Mastiffs, and Rottweilers. We love these breeds, but we’ve made the decision to narrow our intake focus to Rottweilers.

Rottweilers have a long working history, from driving cattle and pulling carts to guarding property and working alongside people. They’re intelligent, strong, versatile, stubborn, goofy, and fiercely devoted. They’re also a breed that faces challenges from breed restrictions and negative public perception.

We want to build a community focused on Rottweiler education, responsible ownership, training, and advocacy. Every dog deserves to be evaluated as an individual and given the opportunity to succeed.

Specializing in Rottweilers allows us to build a stronger network of experienced fosters and adopters, develop deeper breed knowledge, and match dogs with appropriate homes more efficiently. It also allows other rescues to focus on the breeds they know best.

Our remaining non-Rottweilers are still finding homes or transitioning to specialized rescues. They’ll always be part of our story, and support remains available to everyone who has adopted a non-Rottie from us!

🐾 $5 Friday & Blair Bear 🐾

It's Friday, and we've got some exciting progress to share about our girl Blair!

It's been an incredibly busy week for Blair's foster mom, and she hasn't been able to make it to the vet for Blair's weigh-in, so we don't know what the scale says but we have some pretty amazing non-scale victories to celebrate!

❤️ Victory #1: She's starting to look like a normal dog again!

We're seeing some noticeable physical changes in Blair! Her inflammation appears to be decreasing, she's looking a little less chunky, and she's got more energy! We may not know exactly how many pounds she's lost this week, but the changes we're seeing are encouraging.

🐾 Victory #2: She's building her stamina!

This one is HUGE! Blair isn't getting nearly as winded during exercise anymore, and she's now able to enjoy walks lasting up to 30 minutes! For a girl who's been carrying around so much extra weight, that's an incredible milestone. She's slowly building her endurance, and we're so proud of how far she's come!

💕 Victory #3: Her personality is coming to life!

One of our favorite changes has been watching more and more of Blair's personality shine through! As she gains energy and starts feeling better, we're getting to see more of the fun, lovable girl underneath all that extra weight. Watching her come out of her shell has been such a rewarding part of this journey.

Every little improvement matters, and this week has given us plenty of reasons to celebrate!

Blair still has a long road ahead of her. She needs continued veterinary care, weight monitoring, proper nutrition, and support as she works toward a healthier future.

Wanted to pop in and share a quick update on our Sully Man 🩵

Sweet boy went in for his follow-up yesterday, and we learned that he has pneumonia rather than bronchitis. We’ve adjusted his medication to the correct dose, added a little honey for soothing, and are keeping him warm, comfortable, and surrounded by love.

We’ll keep you updated as this good boy continues his recovery.

To everyone who has donated, shared his story, and shown Sully so much love, THANK YOU. It means more than you know to have so many people rooting for this sweet boy. 🐾

Who told Roxy to be this adorable?

Roxy is STILL waiting for a family to call her own, and we would love to help her find it.
Roxy is an 8-year-old purebred Rottie girl with a lot of life left in her! This girl was surrendered to us back in the springtime when her family entered assisted living.

❤️ Here's what Roxy needs:
🐾 An adult-only home. Roxy has struggled in a home with children, so a kid-free environment is nonnegotiable.
🐾 No cats. She needs a feline-free household.
🐾 A calm, predictable lifestyle. Roxy isn't looking for chaos or constant excitement. She's looking for peace and stability.
🐾 Structure and consistency. A reliable daily routine, including her crate time, is essential to helping Roxy feel secure and successful, as she's been through a lot of change.
🐾 Other dogs? Roxy has done well with other dogs, and she thoroughly enjoys her dog pals.

Roxy has now had multiple professional evaluations and has done well in each of them.

Our greatest hope is to find someone willing to give Roxy a chance through a foster-to-adopt placement. Someone who understands her needs and won't give up on her simply because she needs a little extra patience and structure.

We've got two incredibly sweet boys who just made their way to rescue from Southern Utah and Las Vegas who wanted to pop in and say hello 👋

Sullivan (Sully Bear)

Sully is an 8-month-to-1.5-year-old Rottie boy who was found as a stray in the Santa Clara/Ivins area. The amazing shelter reached out to see if we could help him find a better spot and get some more advanced medical care, and we were over the moon to help!

What can we tell you so far? He's Velcro through and through, an absolute lovebug who wants to be wherever his people are. He's been great with cats, LOVES kids, and has been good with other dogs. He does need a recheck for bronchitis, but otherwise, he's an absolute gem 💎

Cookie! 🍪

Cookie is a 6-year-old Rottweiler boy with a heart of gold. He's been thoroughly loved his whole life and was surrendered to us due to medical complications his previous owner was experiencing.

This sweet boy has been good with cats, travels like a pro, and hasn't skipped a beat through all the changes. In true Rottie fashion, he loves his people and isn't shy about showing it!

Cookie is pretty chunky, so he'll be starting a structured weight-loss plan to help him get healthier and more comfortable.

We would LOVE to find adopters for both Sully and Cookie! Because they each have medical needs we're still working through, we'll require a foster-to-adopt arrangement initially while they receive care and we get a better understanding of their needs, however behaviorally they're beyond ready to find their new families.

That means you can start building a life with one of these boys while helping us make sure they're on the right track medically.
