PLEASE SHARE to help find an adopter or rescue!
This boy is at the San Jacinto, CA, shelter.

“What a handsome boy 😍. Hard to believe no one has came for such a nice dog! He came in as a stray on 7/29. He is listed as 1 year old, weighing 30.4 pounds. Shelter has him listed as a Queensland Heeler male mix. He’s very handsome and is such a good boy. He's a very sweet, very calm and well mannered. He gets along with his kennel mates, too. The shelter is overflowing with so many dogs of all sizes and ages. Please help this sweet boy find a rescue or forever home by sharing. He deserves a chance ❤️.
Please stop by or contact the shelter directly for more information. I’m only posting to help get the dog noticed.

PLEASE SHARE & HELP these sweet Border Collie puppies to find them great homes, too!

When the Colusa County Shelter asked for help for the little red heeler puppies, they forgot to mention that they also have these gorgeous border collie puppies! They sound like great pups! Here is what the Animal Control Officer said about them:

“They are about 4 months now and already spayed and neutered. Really sweet pups, learning leash training.”

(There are 3 girls and 1 boy in blue bandana)

Please call the Colusa County Shelter about them: (530)458-0167.

6/27/24 (Evening) UPDATE:
The Colusa County Shelter just told us that all these heeler girls have adoptions “pending!” Thanks everyone!

(But, they still have several adorable border collies puppies! See post for the border collie pups, just above.)

Colusa County Animal Services, CA, just received this litter of approximately 8-week old heeler puppies (ALL FEMALE), and asked for help in finding good homes for them.. They are pretty sure they are pure heelers - ears just starting to come up.

They look to be primarily red heelers. In general, I have personally found that reds tend to have sweeter, less wild personalities than the blue ones. (There are always exceptions of course!)

(Photo in the crate was when they were first brought in, and were all scared and worried.)

Please call the Colusa County Shelter about them: (530)458-0167.

PLEASE SHARE to help this Special Needs girl find a permanent home!
We received an email about this lovely girl, whose rear paws were amputated. She has been in her foster home in Napa, CA, for about a year, and needs to find a situation where she can feel calmer as the only dog, and receive the attention she craves.
Please see the information in the attachment.

June 11th UPDATE! Just heard from the shelter that this little one was adopted today, to “a wonderful lady!”

We were just contacted by Colusa County, CA, Animal Control seeking rescue or an adopter for this super sweet little female.
She is maybe one year old and is a little girl of only 26-27 lbs. She was found as a stray. They repeatedly stressed how very sweet she is. They are calling her “Cali.”
FYI - This shelter has only ever asked us to rescue truly wonderful dogs. Every dog we have ever gotten from this shelter has been a gem.
PLEASE SHARE!

(Sorry for the long silence. We are in the process of closing our doors. This is super hard to do, but we had to at least try to help this little one to find a good home or rescue.)

UPDATE (1/17/24): Oakland Animal Services changed her status to “Adopted”!!!

URGENTLY NEEDS RESCUE OR ADOPTION!
This great older girl has timed out at Oakland Animal Services, and is on their euthanasia list for Jan. 22nd! “Tavi” (ID # 71784) is available for adoption or rescue. PLEASE SHARE WITH AND TAG whomever you can think of!
We have no fosters and our primary rescue person will be out of the country for a month.

Here is Tavi’s description:

“Meet Tavi, the spirited 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix ready to embark on new adventures with you! Weighing in at 52 pounds, Tavi is the perfect companion for nature walks, showcasing her love for the great outdoors. In true cattle dog fashion, she's independent yet engaged, promising to be a loyal and entertaining friend.

Her foster reports she is sweet and loves people. She likes to play with toys and toss stuffie toys around in a way that is very adorable.

Tavi's leash skills are impeccable, and she's mastered basic commands, making every outing a breeze. While she adores cuddles, Tavi's heart is won through treats, making her an eager learner and delightful companion. Given her independence around other dogs, Tavi might shine brightest as the sole star in her forever home. Or part of another independent pack!

With a heart full of love, Tavi is eagerly awaiting the moment she meets her forever family at Oakland Animal Services. Don't miss the chance to welcome this adventurous, cuddle-loving companion into your life!”

BORDER COLLIE PUPS need homes!
The foster mom for 4 border collie puppies, who we believe is in the Brentwood, CA, area, reached out for help in finding good homes for them. She believes that she has a home for two, and the other two are still available. Here is the information she provided:

"I am fostering 4 border collie puppies for Rocket Dog Rescue. I've had then 2 months, I found home for 2. They came from Fresno, 1 was shot in an orchard.
They are short hair and ranching background. They are very smart, now 6 months old. They herd everything, cars, golf carts and will get into my barn and chase my horses, puppies being a pain lol. They are perfect time for training."
