This is our chance to say thank you, to Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County for all they have done for the store and the community at large. Some of you may know that we had a Mama cat who had three separate litters of kittens in our hay barn. Small kittens in a place with lots of trucks and big machinery are never a good combination. The previous litters were all vetted and re homed, but Mama kitty was elusive and extremely trap savvy. This last go round, Forgotten Feline volunteers came out four separate nights and laid traps, had a game camera and not only successfully caught Mama kitty, but her kittens and two other strays. They were all vetted , had their vaccines, and were spayed or neutered. The older cats were released back to this area and the kittens found forever homes. This is what they do, and we are so thankful for them.
There is no way of knowing how much their efforts have helped decrease the homeless cat population in our area but with their hard work, it is considerable and much needed.
As you can imagine, a feral cat isnāt going to make it easy to handle, these cages are a huge help. On top of that we also deliver food and litter to Forgotten Felines every couple of weeks, so if you would like to donate to their account to help in that effort, I know that would be greatly appreciated too.
It takes a village for rescue, if you are able, please donate any amount to this worthy cause. We will also have cat ear headbands for sale behind the counter for $5 each, 100% of the proceeds will go to Forgotten Felines.
Come and get your meow on. Thank you.
