We are a nonprofit animal rescue/small shelter in central Sonoma County. Animals are our first priority.

We are a passionate team dedicated to animals and the humans who will love them. We primarily represent dogs, with a focus on the ones who are least likely to be seen. Our main goal is to find loving homes that are best suited for the animals in our care.

Exciting news! We’re bringing the Little Trooper show on the road! You’ll find us at our favorite pet store, Fideaux, this coming Saturday with Parker, Bee, Lolli, Jellybean, Lucy and more from noon til 3 pm at 43 North St in Healdsburg.
We have an extra special batch of future BFF’s and we’re excited to stock up on gorgeous curated toys, beds and goodies while we’re there. 🥰 If you’re not in the position to adopt but would like to choose a toy and gift it to one of our dogs, in person at Fideaux, we promise dog kisses!
Can’t wait to see you this Saturday, November 22nd.

***UPDATE*** Wow, our supporters really came through! Thank you all for stepping up. Our clinic was completely funded by you, our sponsors, and we even surpassed our goal. Ernie is Ivy League. Ernie is Olympic gold. Ernie might actually be Banksy. Ernie is Gavin Newsom level gorgeous. Ernie is John Lennon and Jane Goodall. Ernie is carbon fiber. Ernie is apple pie. 🥰
Ernie needs to be neutered.
Ernie can move in with you after he’s neutered.
Ernie is barely an adult but he’s full grown and is 12 pounds.

It was worth the wait for our little Pumpkin. He arrived almost a year ago and has been a huge part of the Trooperville family since the moment he landed in our care. He’s had regular visits to the ophthalmologist, an extensive dental and so much love.
We provided many soft warm places for this little nugget to build his nests and we were prepared to care for him forever, if the perfect home didn’t come along.
Fortunately for Pumpkin, his dream home arrived. He will get so much love and attention. He has his own family.
We were so lucky to be part of his journey.

New little trooper on her way to us as we type! She was a very last-minute addition to a freedom flight from Fresno to Santa Rosa. We’re so excited to meet this little girl!

Fate once again showed her beautiful face and took great care of our little mini hippo. Each time Sand had an adoption appointment, he was overlooked because of his soulful shy spirit. (Common in toy hippos.) They always left with another puppy and we were always shocked. But then, a series of toy miracles lined up in just the right way for our little Sand hippo and yesterday he left LTR with the sweetest family in the world. His new papa kissed his head so many times on their way to the truck, it was adorable. We are so grateful for them. We’re grateful for miracles and we’re grateful for Sand. He reminded us that sometimes patience is all we need. 💞

Tito is here and he’s perfect!! Scroll through to see how well he’s doing already. He’s had kibble, Fresh Pet and he’s snuggled up in his cozy new bed. Thank you Linda and Liz for giving this little man the softest landing possible. We’ll get him all fixed up and ready for his amazing new chapter. Thank you to the amazing team that made his rescue possible.
