✅ How the organs should be positioned
Head/Neck
Brain inside skull
Esophagus runs down the neck into chest
Trachea (windpipe) goes to lungs
Chest (Thoracic cavity)
Heart: centered between the lungs
Lungs: surround the heart
Diaphragm separates chest from abdomen
Front Abdomen (just behind ribs)
Liver: one organ, large, sits directly behind the diaphragm
Stomach: mostly on the left side under the liver
Spleen: thin, elongated organ along the stomach
Mid Abdomen
Small intestines: fill most of the center
Pancreas: tucked along the stomach and duodenum
Back Abdomen
Kidneys: two, positioned high and toward the back near the spine
Large intestine/colon: runs toward the pelvis
Pelvic Area
Bladder: low and toward the rear
