Spellbound sips start here - garnished like a pro, and enchant your guests with a wicked WOW this Halloween! Just delicious.
Easy to make:
1) Gather your supplies
- Fresh 4 inch jalapeños
- Cocktail sticks or kebab bamboo skewers
- Knife and cutting board
- Dehydrator and dehydrating tray (conventional oven possible)
- Gloves! Wear gloves to protect your fingertips from jalapeño heat. Avoid touching eyes or face.
2) Prepare the jalapeños
- Cut the sides of the jalapeño and remove the top skin, leaving the stem head on and stem face upward to form the witch hat.
- Deseed
3) Shape the broom bristles
- Curl the end of the jalapeño to resemble a broom bristle end.
- If needed, trim a small section to help the curl hold.
4) Assemble on the stick
- Insert a cocktail or kebab stick from right to left through the jalapeño to resemble a witch on a broomstick.
6) Optional dehydration (for a dried look)
- Place the finished garnishes on a dehydrating tray.
- Dehydrate for 5-6 hours at 130°F (54°C), or overnight at
118°F (48°C) to avoid burning.
7) Serving options
- Serve on a pristine cocktail rimmed glass to showcase the broomstick.
- You can also serve the jalapeño broomsticks

One of the most surprising facts about sunflowers is that each sunflower head is made up of thousands of tiny individual flowers, not just one big bloom. The large yellow “petals” are actually called ray florets, while the center is filled with hundreds or even thousands of tiny disk florets, each capable of producing its own seed. Essentially, a single sunflower is like a bouquet of flowers all working together!

Even more fascinating: sunflowers follow the Fibonacci sequence in the arrangement of their seeds, creating the spiral pattern you see. This helps them pack as many seeds as possible into the space—nature’s brilliant math at work!
