Something to brighten your day. ☀️ Our Rescue piglets love massage time. 🐷 They purposely lay up against the cage, so the raccoons will scratch all over them. We get a good laugh every time.

Y’all help us give a warm welcome to the newest members of our team, Roxy's Little Bandit Rescue
🦝❤️
While their time working alongside us will be temporary, we are incredibly grateful to have them. They recently obtained their own permit and are currently working toward their 501(c)(3) status.
From day one, it was clear that we share the same mission. ALWAYS putting the animals first.
Just look at their rescue room 👀 It's a true reflection of their dedication to providing quality care.
Please take a moment to follow and support their rescue page!🙏
The wildlife community is strongest when we work together. ❤️

These babies have a long journey ahead of them, but today is the first step toward a better future. They have been vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, parasites and any wounds that they have.
Over the coming months, they will learn the skills they need to survive in the wild.
How to hunt live prey, climb, stalk, navigate their environment, and develop the natural instincts that every bobcat needs to thrive on its own.
Already, they are enjoying having the space to run, explore, climb, and play. Watching them experience freedom of movement after being confined for so long is both rewarding and emotional.

Rescuing wildlife from neglectful and heartbreaking situations is never easy. The images stay with you long after the animals are safe, and the emotional toll can be heavy. We do this because the animals need a voice, but some days are harder than others.
Yesterday, was one of those days.
I am incredibly grateful for my wildlife partner. Having someone who shares the same passion, dedication, and unwavering love for animals makes all the difference. Through the difficult rescues, the long hours, the tears, and the victories, she's always there ready to do whatever it takes for the animals in our care.🙌🏻❤️
Wildlife rehabilitation is not a one-person job. It takes a team of people willing to step up when animals need help most. I'm thankful every day to have a partner who cares as deeply as I do and who never hesitates to fight for the welfare of the animals.
Together, we will keep showing up for them. ❤️🐾

Yesterday, our rescue received a call regarding two young bobcats in need of help. What we found was heartbreaking.
When we arrived, these poor babies were confined to a small 3x5 metal dog crate. We were told they had been living in that crate since NOVEMBER!😤 The enclosure was filled with sewage contaminated water, leaving them with little opportunity to move, exercise, or exhibit natural behaviors. One of the bobcats has an injured eye and will need further evaluation.
❗️Unfortunately, the concerns did not stop there. We observed several conditions that raised serious animal welfare concerns, including emaciated horses, dogs tethered with chains and standing in mud and sewage water
🚨The appropriate authorities, including local animal control, have been notified so these situations can be investigated.
This is an important reminder that wildlife is NOT meant to be kept as pets. Bobcats have complex physical, behavioral, and dietary needs that cannot be met in a small cage or backyard setup. When wild animals are deprived of proper space, enrichment, nutrition, and veterinary care, both their physical and mental health suffer.
✨We also want to recognize our incredible satellite facility and team member, Kaylee Davis who responded to the call. Having dedicated team members throughout our service area allows us to respond more quickly when animals are in crisis.
While this situation is difficult to see, we share it because education is one of the most important tools we have. If you encounter wildlife that needs help, always contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator or the appropriate authorities. Together, we can ensure animals receive the care, respect, and living conditions they deserve.
❤️ Thank you to everyone who continues to support wildlife rehabilitation and animal welfare. Every animal deserves a chance to live free from neglect and unnecessary suffering. 🐾

❣️A huge Thank You to Parker Beveridge with Alvin Boy Scouts Troop 400 for building our rescue a beautiful pre-release enclosure for squirrels! 🐿️❤️

✨A pre-release enclosure is such an important part of wildlife rehabilitation. Before squirrels are fully released back into the wild, they need a safe space to practice climbing, jumping, nest building, and adjusting to outdoor temperatures and sounds. It helps them build strength, confidence, and the survival skills they need to thrive on their own.

✨This enclosure will make such a difference for the squirrels in our care, and we are incredibly grateful for the hard work, time, and dedication that went into this project. Thank you for supporting our mission and helping give these babies the best chance at a successful release back into the wild! 🌿🐾

What to do if you find a nest of bunnies.
Do NOT touch them❗️The mom only comes to the nest at dusk and dawn. Cover it with something that you can put a weight on. Such as a laundry basket, that has access for Mom to come and go.

Today was release day for the bobcats that have been in our care for the last 10 months. 🐾❤️
It was a bittersweet feeling watching them leave. 🥹 After months of feeding, cleaning, monitoring, and giving them the space and skills they needed to stay wild. We did everything in our power to give them the best chance to survive and thrive on their own.
✨Wildlife rehabilitation is NEVER about keeping them❗️It’s about preparing them for this exact moment. Seeing them return to where they belong makes every challenge worth it.
Run wild, little ones. This was always the goal. ❣️🌿

This little one came in yesterday evening. Armadillos play an important role in the ecosystem by helping control insect populations and naturally aerating the soil through digging. Their burrows are also used by many other animals for shelter, including rabbits, snakes, frogs, and even owls. Although their armor offers protection from predators, armadillos are still vulnerable to habitat loss and vehicle strikes because they often jump straight up when startled. These unique mammals are fascinating examples of how wildlife adaptations help animals survive in the wild.
