Santa Fe Cats is in urgent need of dedicated cat-loving staff to join our team. You will play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry feline friends and ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.

Located at 154 Tano Rd in Santa Fe NM, Santa Fe Cats (SFC) is owned by Felines & Friends New Mexico, a non-profit feline rescue and adoption organization, and is dedicated to providing owned and rescued cats a safe boarding and daycare environment staffed with trained caretakers.

Santa Fe Cats operates 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

Staff shifts are typically 8 am - 1 pm or 3 pm - 7 pm with the ability to stay at least 30 minutes longer on any given shift should the need arise.

The current openings are for Cat Care Assistants to work the following shifts:

AM: Saturday, Sunday & Monday

PM: TBA

Availability to pick up additional shifts as needed is a plus.

Starting at $17/hr.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Cat Care Assistant - High school diploma. Minimum age 18

Experience working with cats or other animals in a care, shelter, and or clinical setting in (can include volunteer experience) is a plus.

Ability to supply three references (not related by blood) one of which can speak to your punctuality and work ethic.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work as a member of a team

Ability to manage time and attend to details in a fast-paced sometimes hectic environment. Good time management is essential

Patient and caring personality

Punctual and reliable

Ability to follow instructions and procedures properly
Comfortable being around cats with different personalities and social skills

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g., lift up to 40 lbs., climb a spiral staircase, reach and bend to clean kennels and facilities.

Availability to work additional shifts, and or fill in for another team member, sometimes on short notice, including weekends or holidays as needed.

Ability to pass a drug and background check

Must have reliable transport to the facility on Tano Rd, regardless of weather conditions.

We have a selection of over 100 pieces, many by local artists, donated to us by galleries, artists and collectors.

Tickets to this event can be obtained online or at the door, with a donation of $25 to help offset our expenses.

Santa Fe Cats boarding hotel/Felines & Friends cat shelter are looking for a part-time cat-loving "Cat Care Assistant” to fill the following shifts:

Sunday & Monday 3pm to 7pm [sometimes longer] plus additional shifts to be confirmed.

The facility operates 7 days a week. Our Cat Care Assistant is a professional who is responsible for the cleanliness of the facility and helps the Executive Director and Operations Manager with various tasks to ensure the cats receive the care and attention they need while there. You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry felines and ensuring the smooth running of our facility.

Salary: $17/hour to start

Duties include:
• Feeding and caring for cats and kittens
• Helping to maintain a clean facility and safe environment for cats which includes the use of hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning products

Responsibilities include:
• Feed, groom (including clipping claws)
• Clean cages and scoop litter boxes
• Thoroughly clean the cat care areas of the facility
• Interact with all the cats to provide comfort and social interaction
• Soothe upset or frightened animals
• Observe animal behavior or health conditions and report to the Executive Director or Operations Manager
• Help in cases of emergencies
• Keep accurate records and logs

Requirements and Skills:
• Current or former pet ownership is an advantage

Cat Care Assistant Wanted

Job Description: Santa Fe Cats boarding hotel and the co-located shelter Felines & Friends NM are looking for a part-time cat-loving staff person to join our team and work at least three shifts (3pm to 7pm, maybe longer) per week.

The facility is located on Tano Rd and operates 7 days a week. Our Cat Care Assistant is a professional who is responsible for the cleanliness of the facility and helps the Executive Director and Operations Manager with various tasks to ensure the cats receive the care and attention they need while there. You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry felines friends and ensuring the smooth running of our facility.
Salary: $17/hour; minimum of 12 hours work per week

Duties include:
• Feeding and caring for cats and kittens
• Maintain a clean facility and safe environment for cats
• Performing administrative duties, including greeting clients and adopters

Responsibilities include:
• Feed, groom (including clipping claws) and weigh cats and kittens
• Clean cages and scoop litter boxes
• Thoroughly clean the cat care areas of the facility
• Safely hold cats during examinations or vaccinations
• Interact with all the cats to provide comfort and social interaction
• Soothe upset or frightened animals
• Administer medication prescribed by our veterinarians (e.g., by mixing it with food, pilling)
• Observe animal behavior or health conditions and report to the Executive Director or Operations Manager
• Help in cases of emergencies
• Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, taking messages, scheduling boarding appointments, and checking clients in/out
• Keep accurate records and logs
• Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for and any explain issues

Requirements and Skills:
• Proven experience working with cats in a clinical or shelter setting, such as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals (can include volunteer experience)
• Experience in an administrative and/or customer service role is a plus
• Current or former pet ownership is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Ability to manage time and attend to details in a fast-paced sometimes hectic environment
• Patient and caring personality
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures properly
• Comfortable being around cats with different personalities and social skills
