Camp Namanu (Nuh-MAH-Noo) is a welcoming and empowering place for kids entering grades K-12 to spend Thanks!

Camp Namanu is going into our 97th summer, serving all kids ages 6-18 every summer. There are three different camp experiences associated with Namanu. Feel free to check out images from all of our program offerings to determine which is the best fit for your family's summer needs.

+ Resident Camp (a traditional sleep-away summer camp experience)

+ Namanu Ranch (a sleep-away equestrian program)

+ Summer Day Camp (week-long day programs located in Portland)

Camp Namanu is also available as a rental location for your retreat, meeting, or wedding needs. We hope to foster positive community and dialogue about Camp Namanu, but we do reserve the right to remove any posts that contain abusive or offensive language.

It is chilly outside, but spring is just around the corner! That means it is almost time for our next Service Weekend at Camp Namanu. Join us for a weekend of projects 2/28-3/2 to prepare camp for the Spring Outdoor School and rental season.

We are looking for 30 volunteers to help us split wood, repair stairs, distribute supplies around site, and help in the kitchen!

This year we are requesting a suggested donation of $50 to help cover the cost of food and supplies for the weekend.

Two big updates from Camp Namanu and Camp Fire Columbia!

1️⃣ We are thrilled to announce that Gina "Sprout" Sander will be stepping up as the Executive Director of the organization! Gina has a long history with Camp Fire Columbia and Camp Namanu beginning in 1997 when she first attended Camp Namanu as a Mini Blue Wing camper. Gina's experience as a Counselor-in-Training and a summer camp staff member were foundational in building her passion for youth development and outdoor programming. Off and on, since 2011, Gina has held many positions with Camp Fire Columbia including three years as a Multi-Site Manager for the Before and After School Program, five years as the Camp Namanu Director of Programs, and most recently she has served as the Interim Executive Director for Camp Namanu.

2️⃣ Summer Camp 2025 is officially on! Through a combination of organizational staffing changes over the last several months, as well as increased fundraising and registration rates, we now have the resources to move forward with summer camp.

While you all helped us raise nearly half a million dollars since November 1, we still face a deficit this fall as we eliminate debt and make final transitions to our new streamlined operating model. This means that the hard work and fundraising will continue as planned to ensure that we end 2025 in a stable place.

Thank you all for helping us raise over $23,000 to close out December. I am pleased to share that, even though we did not raise the full matching funds, Dean and Cathy Lemman are going to donate the full $50,000!

That means that together, we have raised over ✨$425,000✨ for Camp Namanu in just 2 short months!

While we still have more work to do in the new year, we feel deep gratitude for the support and investment our community has shown us during this challenging time.

We can do hard things, especially when we work together.
