Moana Update

Thank you to all those who have sent us messages about Moana. As some of you may know, she’s hasn’t been very well.
Well, X-Rays came back normal but further tests indicate that she has a low thyroid, which might be the cause of her incontinence. We’ve got her on some meds so hoping we see an improvement soon. 🤞

Arnie’s has partnered with K9 Smiles to offer Dog Teeth Cleaning for just one day only!

It’s on June 14th and will be by appointment only at our South Salt Lake location.

K9 Smiles offers deep cleansing without anesthesia.

“Oi! Arnie’s! You told me that you clean my dog’s teeth during their grooming” Well yeah we do but nothing like this. This is an actual deep cleaning teeth cleaning. We do a bit of a cosmetic spruce up as part of our package. It’s not designed to remove any plaque etc.

You probably have questions before you drop $220 (plus tax)

Personal Post Again…Last One Promise

Read a thing on Insta the other day about being a Business Operator Vs Business Owner.
And it was about how if you’re an operator, you’ve got yourself stuck being an operator and you’ve got to change your whole mindset to switch roles etc.
Well…Gurj is both.
And as a consequence of that…Gurj couldn’t be there for Moana yesterday.
It was clear that after a hard day yesterday, we’ve got a ways to go about where we want this company to be.
It’s alright, we’ll get there.
No one to blame but ourselves.
But this is how wonderful dogs are right.
Gatsby here could tell instantly that his Mum wasn’t her usual bubbly self, that she was sad and stressed. He could tell his sister wasn’t well either. So he was just there. He didn’t play up, he wasn’t his usual cheeky self. He was like “yeah this is a new vibe, I’m going to have to step up here”
The man of the house indeed.
I’m so proud of him and his Mum of course.
This? This is just a stupid social media post, it means nothing. It’s Gurj, who makes it all possible.

Personal Post

Hard day for our princess today.
For the last few months, Moana has been suffering from incontinence and we’ve been avoiding the vets because taking Moana to the vets is a whole ordeal.
Plus we don’t really like sedating our Dogs unless it is absolutely necessary.
Well today, we blocked off some time to go. All it took was 4 Trazodone and 2 rounds of sedatives to knock her out.
Rocky Balboa here would NOT go down.
She is stubborn, pig headed, aggressive, she definitely hasn’t got a full deck. But there isn’t a penny I wouldn’t spend to make sure that she’s okay or to find out what’s wrong.
Now we wait for the lab results.
People have always got opinions on other people’s dogs and what you should do. I’ve been told to put her down or rehome her numerous times. I would never be able to live with myself.
Don’t you worry, princess. I’ve got ya back. Always and forever.
But seeing as I wrote this nice post about you…try to ease up on the biting me yeah?

Leigh has just won the prestigious award of Arnie’s Avenger of the Month!
There is no bigger award this side of the freeway!

Some will scoff at this but take it from us, Front of House is the most important job of all at Arnie’s.
Leigh is responsible for making sure that 45 dogs (yes, on average 45 dogs!) are checked in, checked out, rebooked, all up to code in terms of accounting, she has to take care of rescheduling, deal with system issues, be proactive when we have sickness, and that’s just Monday.
The stylists don’t have to worry about all that (as they shouldn’t - W2 employees after all) and that’s because of Leigh.

In addition, she is a fantastic stylist in her own right. She has saved our bacon (not literally - bit weird) a lot this month in terms of stepping in and covering for all sorts of circumstances. Leigh wants to get back into being a stylist full time (watch this space) but it’s not an easy job to replace her for. We’re not taking any old Tom, Dick or Harry because as we mentioned above, it’s the most important job.

So enjoy the gift, MoneyPenny, we couldn’t do it without ya.
