Part 1 of our 3 part life skills workshop is in the books!

This small group workshop crew - Pip, Lucy Lu, and Phoebe 🦴 - showed exactly why I love offering this format. Small groups create the perfect balance: enough real-world distraction to practice focus and emotional regulation, while still allowing for individualized coaching and support.

Workshops like this bridge the gap between private sessions and larger group classes. Dogs get to generalize their skills around others, handlers build confidence navigating shared spaces, and we can slow things down to really teach (not just manage) behavior.

This is where the magic happens: learning to exist with other dogs, not just around them. ✨

Sappy post for my Sunday Crew ❤️

This group has been with me through the entire Stay Dog Training curriculum (puppy foundations, skills and exposure, CGC, and therapy dog training) beginning back in November (even continuing their work independently through the holiday season). I’m incredibly proud of their dedication and the effort they’ve put into preparing their dogs for this next step. These pups and their humans are officially on their way and will begin therapy dog certification evaluations in the coming weeks.

Group classes require a real commitment from handlers to continue training outside of class, and that’s exactly what these teams have done. I can’t wait to see them out in the community bringing comfort and smiles to so many faces. And selfishly, I’ll miss having them in class each week… they truly are that special 💕

The good news? At Stay Dog Training, we believe training is lifelong. Teams who complete the full curriculum are always welcome to drop back into classes - our door is always open. So don’t worry… you’ll definitely be seeing these wonderful faces again ✨
