The first six of Hailey‘s nine puppies went home with their new families this weekend. It’s hard to believe they’re eight weeks old already! I’m really going to miss all these fluffy pups… they have the sweetest disposition and are such little cuties. Pepper went to Montana. Hunter also went to Montana. Blue stayed in Sandpoint. Timber went to New Mexico. Lulu stayed in Sandpoint. Bear went to Spokane. Tucker leaves on Thursday for a Rathdrum. Boomers family broke down on their way from Colorado and had to fly back home and leave their vehicle in Wyoming. We think that he will be leaving next weekend for Colorado. Zoey will be hanging out with us until June 5th because her family has to drive to California for a funeral this week.

It has been a wild 24 hours for Oakley. Her puppy count x-rays originally showed 10 puppies according to our vet. I was worried there could be hidden puppies and wanted to make sure how many more to expect so we went back in today before they closed and had an additional x-ray done. Our vet said that she saw five more puppies. Oakley had already had seven. They gave her an oxytocin injection and she had another puppy a half hour later. Then we went home and she had three more puppies. So at that point we were at 11 and I gave her the second oxytocin shot and no puppy yet. I called the Coeur d’Alene emergency vet and they said that I should come down with her and the puppies to have her checked. So we drove down about 2 AM and they did an ultrasound and couldn’t find the puppy so then they did an x-ray and there was no additional puppy. Needless to say we got back home at 3 AM and I am just now finishing up cleaning all of the puppy kennels and getting everyone ready for bed. I am one tired, dog mama. I love my job, but some days are challenging. Oakley and her babies are resting peacefully and I am headed to do the same thing. 💛🐾😊 She had six females and five males in a variety of colors from almost white to a deep fox red. They’re so cute. 💖

Maizy has had 11 puppies so far today since 2:30 am. We have seven females and four males. I’m hoping that if there are any more coming that they are also male puppies. She is snoring 💤 in the video. 😴🐾

Maizy’s first puppy is a .8 pound 🧡 female. Her mini 🐾Maizy arrived at 2:30 am.😊 number two arrived at 3:12 AM and weighing .9 pound 💛 female. Number three arrived at 3:55 AM and weighing .9 pound 💚 male. Number is four and five arrived at 5 AM and 5:10 AM. Both are females 🩵💟 and they weighed in at .7 pounds each. Number six arrived at 6:20 AM, another 💜 female at .7 pounds. Number seven arrived at 7:20 AM, another female at .7 pounds with the lime green collar 💚 Number eight is a .7 pound black collar 🖤 male who arrived at 8:05 am. Number nine is a .6 pound male with the gray 🩶collar. He arrived at 9:35 AM. Number 10 is the .7 pound male with the brown 🤎collar. Number 11 is the .7 pound female with the pink 🩷collar. They arrived at 10:40 AM and 11:25 AM.

Update *** Shelby had 10 puppies total. Seven females and three males. Two of the females are black, and the rest are yellow and fox red. Two of the males are black and the other one is a fox red. Mama and babies are all doing well. Shelby is so proud of her babies and I am so proud of her. She is an excellent mama and is very attentive and protective of them. We are both exhausted after being at since 8:30 AM yesterday.
Shelby had her first black male puppy at 6:20 am this morning. He weighs 1.1 pounds and is very vocal, mama keeps cleaning him and he really just wants to nurse. He latched on immediately. 🖤🐾😊

Sweet Shelby is in labor tonight! Her temperature dropped since last evening. We should have puppies sometime early tomorrow. She is nesting and trying to get comfortable, which is next to impossible when you go from 75 pounds to 104 pounds in just over two months and are completely full of puppies. Shelby and I are hanging out together and she’ll be getting lots of massages and love while she laborers. 💛🖤🐾😊 I am very excited to meet her babies. There are going to be anywhere from 10 to 14. We are hoping for an even split between males and females and black and yellows.

Update… both boys have new family/homes! Timber will be going to New Mexico. Boomer is going to Bonnie Lake, Washington.
Timber and Boomer will be ready to go to their forever homes after their veterinarian check on May 24th. They are currently four weeks old. The long haired gene in labs is a rarity, and these two cuties are going to make the best companions. Both parents are genetically tested and come from excellent hunting pedigrees with good hips and elbows. These boys have the sweetest personalities and are very spunky. These puppies are from our lines. Harley was one of Sadie and Ryder Boone’s gorgeous chocolate puppies from our December 2022 litter. She is the mama to this available litter. Our Smokey is their papa. Harley is English and Smokey is American, which makes the best combination for excellent temperament, blocky heads, stocky bodies, the second undercoat and stamina to go for a long way.
