It's been a whirlwind here at the ranch lately. Between me not being able to get around well from the accident back in Dec, to Scarlett getting a gash in her side. Can anyone tell me what presents itself as strangles but doesn't act like strangles...?

Poor Dollar started with abcesses in both front feet and 3 days later had a softball size knot under his jaw. Then the swelling went around his jaw all the way up to the TMJ behind his ears. Now that it has ruptured, it's basically wound treatment from this point forward.

The pictures are of its progression over a week. I haven't taken any of the current state of it yet. Pictures to come later.

This is Scarlett (AKA: Looking Untouchable). She was run over a gate and was ripped open on her gut through 2 layers of muscle tissue. This happened on 5-21-25.

We lost one of the sweetest mares yesterday. She had to be put down yesterday evening due to a broken shoulder at the young age of 21. Until we see you again, run high with those who left before you.
