Male bristlenose guarding his cave that is full of eggs. The male will choose a suitable cave and then present himself in front to lure a female in. She deposits the eggs and leaves. The male will then fertilize and guard the eggs. He continues guarding the fry until they are ready to leave. It is possible for multiple females to deposit eggs during the same cycle. Will post a video of the male fanning his fins. They do this to keep water movement over the eggs.

What's this?? A baby albino bristlenose pleco. Whats extra cool about this, is that its our first ever 2nd generation spawn. Looking forward to finding more of these around the tank. It was discovered in the 300 so finding fish this small in that big tank is like a needle in a haystack.

2 filets later, looking fat and happy.... Its still searching for food.

As crayfish grow they slowly fill their shell until there is no room left. They then go through a molting process where they break out of the old shell and develop a new larger shell to grow in. The marbled crayfish in the pics moved into the overflow box a few weeks ago. Shes obviously doing well because she recently molted and is displaying some great colors. In the third Pic you can see the old shell split in half. Over time she will eat the old shell as a calcium supplement.

Some pics of Phoenix. Also wanted to show how the habitat has grown. The floating plants have spread and now offer full shade and help create a natural home for Phoenix.

Our big female. Her carapace (shell) is close to 10". She's a good 5 lbs if not a little more. In the wild these turtles (female) can grow up to around 14" and weigh 10 lbs or even more. Males are a bit smaller.

Meet 2 of our "newish" members of the family. These tiger oscars were given to us a few maybe 4-6 weeks ago now. You can tell that they are older fish, very large in body a little stunted in length but still beautiful. The one has a mildly advanced case of hole in the head, but its doing quite well. These fish have been in a tank where they were mostly isolated, but have now moved into one of the main tanks.

Peaty the elusive peacock bass. It took me dropping in 100 feeder fish to finally get a video. If it looks like he's breathing hard it's from him having already taken down several goldfish. Go Peaty go.
