We don’t need to panic, but we do need to be aware and take precautions where we can. I would advise NOT bringing your dog to the pet store/farm store right now, and avoiding gathering places where dogs who may have recently been boarded or travelled are amongst the play group. If you have your dog with you in a dog friendly environment where many pets pass through, do not offer your dog water from a community dog bowl. And…keep your pet home with me visiting, don’t risk a boarding Kennel where the risk of exposure is increased. That last part is a plug for myself, but also, a sound precaution. 😁

I’ve been hearing about this often lately. It is one plus for keeping your pet home with a trusted sitter ( Me!) and out of high volume boarding facilities this holiday season. Reach out if you need me, I’ll care for your pets if I am available.

These two gorgeous puppies are interviewing families. One could be warm and snuggly on your sofa before the Holidays! Super character, fun and happy, as well as stunning. Photos don’t do their super red color justice. One female, one male, healthy and ready for happily ever after. These are the highest quality West German lines, with generations of excellence behind them.

Can you believe the Holidays are so close? Are you thinking of joining out of town family for Tday or heading someplace warm over Christmas break? Of you are dreaming of goi n and doing, but need animal and or farm care, contact me!
This has been a crazy year, and it astonishes me that we are already more than 11 months into it. I feel like most of that time was spent finding a place to move to, preparing to move, packing, transporting belongings, creatures, and unpacking. I do not move well. It really took me most of 2023, and I am still unpacking things.
Here we are, though, almost to T Day, with the Holiday season upon us.
I am accepting limited pet sitting/farm sitting for the holidays, and this is a reminder to reach out if you need to reserve dates. I have made the difficult decision to focus on curating new relationships with local farm owners, pet parents and pets in my current area. I pride myself on the level of care and service I provide, and I believe that the best way to achieve my goals is to minimize time spent traveling and maximize time spent on care. The good news for those of you locally, who only recently learned about me, and for those locals who may be considering a spontaneous, previously unplanned trip, is that I’ve got you! Normally Holiday weeks and school vacations are booked far ahead, so my recent shift in area will benefit those who are thinking “Let’s go!” And are in need of services.

The puppy in this photo was wary about her paws leaving the ground, and though the rest of her family loved to swim, she was quite suspicious of what might lurk under the water. After following behind the adult dog ( her grandfather) at a safe distance, and noting that he seemed to be not only surviving, but happily launching himself after sticks and balls, she finally couldn’t resist and paddled after him. The youngsters do learn from the older generation.

Tolkien came all the way from the Netherlands, the result of a long, far and wide search for the horse of my dreams. He didn’t disappoint.

Leggsie the Leghorn, aka Coat Bird because as soon as the weather is chilly, she climbs into coats and snuggles up during barn chores, is a favorite. And my son the chicken lover also loves Minecraft and Minecraft chickens. This year’s Halloween costume is none other…Minecraft chicken! With light up eyes, flapping wings and opening beak.
