🚨 Euthanasia Deadline: Friday, June 27 @ 5 PM 🚨

Despite our best efforts, our kennels are full once again—and another deadline list is here. We know these posts are exhausting. Believe us, shelter staff feel it too. But the only way to save these pets is through community action. We need your help spreading the word and stepping up.

💔 Since our last deadline, we’ve taken in 164 dogs. Returns are higher than ever, especially from recent deadline adoptions. We’re now beyond full—housing dogs in pop-up crates in our sally port, which is not sustainable or safe.

Additionally, we've added a new clause to our adoption contract:
“I understand that if I return this animal to the shelter, it may be subject to immediate euthanasia based on kennel space, temperament, and animal health.”

This is not to scare anyone—it’s about being honest with the public. Many dogs recently adopted from deadline lists are returned just days later, often from homes that intended to “buy time” rather than commit long-term. When these dogs return, they come back to a full shelter with limited options. Sadly, this puts them at higher risk.

Who could say no to this face? (Seriously, who?)

Pudgy has ✨perfected✨ the puppy dog eyes. This 3 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix has a gentle heart and a curious spirit. Pudgy has had good interactions with other dogs and has been indifferent towards cats. He's more into soaking up the sunshine and the love.

Come meet this sweet guy at the shelter or message us to learn more. Let’s find Pudgy the loving family he deserves!

🎉 A huge thank you to Barking Back Rescue for stepping up for our sweet boy Sinatra! 💙

This handsome gentleman came to us on 6/3 after being picked up by county ACO—possibly hit by a car. Despite head wounds and two broken back legs, Sinatra remained calm, gentle, and friendly with every dog and human he met. 🐾

Thanks to Barking Back, Sinatra is now on his way to their rescue and will see an orthopedic specialist and a future full of comfort and care. His surgery estimate is $6,500, and if you’d like to help this well-mannered pup get back on his feet, you can donate directly at:

We’re endlessly grateful to rescues like Barking Back who help dogs like Sinatra get a second chance. 💛

1 energetic pup, 2 adorable ears, 3 reasons to fall in love—ah ah ah!🧛‍♂️🐶

At just 1 year old and 42 lbs, Count is a one-of-a-kind mixed breed with a heart full of hope and a nose for adventure.

Scars on his muzzle suggest it was once taped shut for a long time, a painful and traumatic experience for such a sweet soul. However, Count is resilient, and he is determined to leave the pain behind and embrace a brighter future.

Despite what he's been through, he's affectionate, playful, and eager to start fresh with a family who will cherish him. He’s had positive interactions with other dogs and would thrive in a home that understands his energetic nature and gives him the patience and love he deserves.

Ready to count your blessings? Start with Count.
1 sweet dog, 1 fresh start, 1 chance to change a life—ah ah ah!
