Happy National Wildlife Day!🐾

Today we’re celebrating the incredible wild animals that call San Luis Obispo County home, from bobcats and tule elk to golden eagles and many more!

We’re so lucky to live in a place where oak woodlands, coastal dunes, and estuaries support so many amazing species. Let’s do our part to protect their habitats and keep SLO wild.

We believe caring for animals means respecting all creatures, wild and domestic. 💚

🌈 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Today, we pause to honor the beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

We know saying goodbye is one of the hardest moments a pet parent can face. When families come to us for end-of-life care, their comfort and the comfort of their beloved pet is our top priority.

We do everything we can to create a peaceful, respectful, and compassionate space during these tender goodbyes.

To all those remembering a furry friend today: we see you, we honor your grief, and we’re grateful for the love you shared. 💛

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🖤😻

Despite centuries of superstition, black cats are just as loving, healthy, and wonderful as cats of any other color.

MYTH: Black cats are bad luck.
FACT: In many cultures, black cats are actually seen as symbols of good fortune and prosperity!

Sadly, black cats are adopted less often and spend more time in shelters. Today, let’s help change that. If you’ve got a black cat, celebrate them with some extra love!

We recently received a touching gift in memory of a beloved patient, Kuma, a loyal and gentle Akita. ❤

Kuma faced ongoing challenges due to a skin condition called Sebaceous Adenitis, and Dr. Brooks worked closely with her dedicated family to manage her care. Despite every effort, her quality of life began to decline, and her loving owners made the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye and end her suffering.

It’s always heartbreaking to witness the loss of a cherished pet, but we take comfort in knowing that Kuma lived a life filled with love, loyalty, and compassionate care.

We’re so grateful to be able to remember Kuma in such a sweet and thoughtful way. 🐾❤
