As humans, we owe a DEBT to discarded, neglected and forgotten animals, who have found themselves in high-kill/hoarding/owner surrender situations BECAUSE of humans. This project serves one purpose only and that is to pay something back to the animal kingdom for the way humans have tortured and brutalized them throughout time. It is our belief that we can never make up for what we have taken from
them but that does not mean we shouldn't work at a project that could benefit thousands of animals. Although we are grateful for the shelters and rescues who spend 24/7 helping get animals off the street, only to be faced with the SAME issues day after day, week after week. We need to start focusing on something far more beneficial to these animals. We have a semi-rural 10 acre property in Wellington, Colorado. It is close to the major town of Fort Collins, but rural enough to be out of the city. Colorado State University Vet School (at CSU) offers veterinary studies and volunteers for socializing and training. We have a small hospice/senior sanctuary although we are always looking for homes to take these animals in for the remainder of their life. We are hoping to house up to 30 dogs (15 small, 15 medium/large) on the property. We provide them one-on-one attention, basic training, love and compassion, all the while looking for the perfect forever home. Our ultimate dream is to be as self sufficient as possible. Donations and volunteers will always be welcome, but we need to remain focused on being self sufficient. We have made this a full-time, lifetime commitment and plan to do this the rest of our lives.
