They still sit side by side to this day just as you see them.

33 days since he left me. I need him the most tomorrow, and he's not here. I feel so lost and empty going into this without my hero.

It was a marathon trip to say the least....

This is what 8 days and 7,100 miles of closure looks like. This is the route for Jake's Bucket List Trip #4. There were two nights of not driving in Georgia and Alabama coming home that I won't count. That means this was all done, with stops, in 7 calendar days. I was given a week to complete, and did it. I'm finally getting my sleep back just in time for my surgery on Thursday. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat for my hero....

That famous Times Square photo. It took a lot to make this happen, but it was worth it all to have this memory of my hero forever on my wall and in my heart.

THAT SMILE!!!!!!

Sunset Memories...

Dallas has a beautiful skyline, and we wanted to take Jake down to experience what he loves seeing so much, which are sunsets. So we drove down to the Trinity River Basin and went looking for a good spot. Unfortunately, they were putting in a lot of new high bridges and it was not the skyine I was used to as far as the view.

But nonetheless, we found a nice spot of grass that Jake really enjoyed, and we sat and watched the sunset together and the lights of Dallas come up. You can see by the pics that he was very much enjoying it. Photos taken with both my phone and Nikon, along with my friend John's camera.

I would give anything in the world to have more of them with him and see him happy.

It still hurts inside....

I'm breaking inside right now. Jake crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at 2146 tonight. I was with him and despite the best efforts, there wasn't anything that could be done.
