Wally before and after. He had horrible Demodex and skin infections and was malnourished. He came from Santa Cruz shelter, a stray, and he’s now much happier and healthier. Please donate and help us keep helping dogs!

Max was rescued from Southern California, and Flying Tails arranged his transport. He was an older fella, calm, quiet and playful with other dogs. Take a look at two of his new family members!

Fundraising has become critical to our continuation. Here’s Little Buddha, found in a box next to a dumpster at the cow palace. His brother didn’t survive but he did and he now has the most amazing home. We are so honored to do this work.

We are facing a critical funding shortfall to get through 2025. For 35 years, we have rescued Boston terriers and other small dogs and found wonderful loving homes. We are now dangerously low on funds, and cannot keep up with the flood of urgent cases. Please give us a hand.

This North Bay pup had a disease that their vet couldn’t figure out. We brought him into rescue and Mission Pet Hospital did their magic once again. He’s now Walter, still under a year,  and has a most amazing San Francisco home.

We are facing a critical funding shortfall to get through 2025. For 35 years, we have rescued Boston terriers and other small dogs and found wonderful loving homes. We are now dangerously low on funds, and cannot keep up with the flood of urgent cases. Please give us a hand.

Smokey was rescued recently, and has pneumonia, a digestive disorder, and an ear infection. Because of these factors he would have been euthanized. We are in the process of getting him well, and then getting him neutered so that he can be adopted.

These seniors were two of six dogs found in a San Jose home after the owner died…. The shelter called to ask us if we would take the two most elderly,, who were bonded. They joined WDR at our Penngrove Sanctuary. The male was eventually adopted, after his neuter and cherry eye surgery. The female stayed with us until she passed. Both were very old dogs, and very very sweet.

Baba-ji had been over looked at the shelter and close to euthanasia. They pleaded with us to rescue him, and even though his ear treatment was tricky, we succeeded and he spent another happy and beautiful four years at the WDR Sonoma sanctuary! Please help us continue to save the lives of dogs like Baba-ji.
