After Talia came to us, we made a heartbreaking discovery: BB pellets scattered throughout her body, clear signs that she had been shot at sometime in her past. Despite everything she’s endured, Talia is doing something incredible — she’s healing.

In foster, she’s absolutely blossoming. She’s graduated from the couch to the floor and now gets down to play 🐾—jumping on and off furniture, rolling around, and walking up the stairs on her own. She does have a very slight limp in her back leg from her injuries, but it doesn’t seem to bother her, and we are continuing to evaluate. Best of all, the light is back in her eyes, and watching her joy return has been incredibly special.

Talia is incredibly sweet, curious, and playful, and she’s a dream on walks — she stays close, doesn’t pull, and never rushes ahead. While she is not aggressive toward other dogs, she is still scared and will sometimes bare her teeth if another dog gets too close, which is her way of asking for space. Because of this, she would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can fully relax and continue building confidence.

💛 Talia needs a new foster starting at the beginning of January. Even better would be a foster-to-adopt opportunity once she’s settled — a true fresh start for a girl who deserves safety and patience.

Laila recently had a little sleepover and here’s the pupdate: she’ll happily steal your slippers—and then steal your heart 💖. While she definitely has that fun terrier spark, Laila is wonderfully calm and non-reactive with cats (she may try to invite them to play 🐱).

Gwinny is a beautiful 4-year-old husky mix whose story stays with you. She was rescued from a homeless encampment set up right next to active train tracks — an unimaginably dangerous place for any dog, let alone a mama trying to protect her babies.

Most of Gwinny’s puppies were given away in the encampment before help could arrive. One puppy was tragically hit by a train. Only one of her babies, Astra, made it to safety and is now with the rescue, also waiting for her forever home. Gwinny loved her puppies fiercely, and she did the very best she could in circumstances no dog should ever face.

Now, Gwinny is safe — and her true personality is shining through. Watch this video and you’ll see it immediately: the joyful zoomies, the excitement over something as simple as going for a walk, the pure happiness bursting out of her. She’s playful, sweet, and full of life. She loves her walks, adores her people, and is just as happy to chill by your side once the fun is done.

Her puppies are no longer depending on her. Gwinny has done her job as a mama — through heartbreak, loss, and impossible odds.

Now it’s her turn.

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED 🚨💔

Meet Talia, a young cattle dog mix who has been through more than any dog ever should.

Talia is extremely scared and simply needs a quiet, safe place to decompress. We took her to the vet this week for an injury to her back leg — and yesterday we learned the heartbreaking truth: Talia has approximately 80 BB pellets throughout her body. She was shot in the face and across her entire body. This trauma explains her fear, and it breaks our hearts.

Despite everything, Talia doesn’t need much.
She doesn’t need training.
She doesn’t need fixing.
She just needs safety, patience, and kindness.

Talia would do best in a foster home with no other dogs, or possibly a very calm dog who will completely give her space. She needs a soft place to land — a home where nothing is expected of her except to rest and feel safe.

If you can open your home for this sweet girl ASAP, you could change everything for her.

At just 8 weeks old, Miso is a total cuddle bug — soft, snuggly, and happiest curled up with his people. While all of his brothers have headed off to their new homes, this sweet boy is still waiting… and you can tell he misses them. 🥺
